New to Carcassonne

Hello there
I am new to this game but bought the big box. Every now and then we have questions. We were playing the other day and I put a meeple in three different cities but as the game expanded it became one large city with three of my meeples in it before the city was totally completed. When this happens can I remove two of the meeples as only me on that feature so no need to take control of it. Or do I have to wait until the city is completed and then remove all meeples, scoring as normal? Thanks

Except by using specific actions from some expansions, you can never remove a meeple before its feature is completed

Welcome to the forum. To answer your question: Yes, you do have to wait until the city is completed and only then can you return all 3 meeples.

Welcome to the forum.

If you have Big Box 6, you will find the abbots. This meeple, only valid on monasteries and gardens, is the only one you can remove from the feature when it is still incomplete and score some points in the process.
