[C2] River 1 - Tile I : How many fields ?
« on: June 01, 2021, 11:28:02 PM »
Hello dear community  :)

Sorry for the basic question,

how many fields for this tile : 3 or 4?
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/File:River_I_C2_Tile_I.jpg

We are confused by the trees between river and road ..

Is there in WICA, a reference base that indicates number or roads, fields, … for each tile?
It may be interesting as I regularly see questions around such topic..
Thanks
David  :yellow-meeple:

Hi, there's 3 fields:
  • 1 upper left corner
  • 1 between the road and the river (the trees are decoration only and doesn't separate anything)
  • 1 lower right corner

Of course the green island in the middle of the river is decoration only, it is not a field, though I do not know if this has been clarified officially  :yellow-meeple:

There's a tile reference list on WICA:
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Tile_Reference_(1st_edition)

But it does not indicate the number of fields, so I do not know if something like that exists. Maybe someone else has more information?

The number of fields, roads and city segments per tile is included in the WICA Tile Reference meta info, but it cannot be used for filtering yet...  :-\

Hi,
Thanks.
Where is the Tile Meta Info?
I can see road/field indications ,but only for the Tile Edge. Like: « CFRR ( City, Field, Road, Road ) ».

For example, For this tile:
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/File:Base_Game_C2_Tile_L.jpg
I would like to have the  indication : 3 fields, 3 roads.

In addition, I see a lot of mis-indications about the Tile illustration.
For example, with selection [« C2: Base Game;  Edges: Square Tiles; Features: Regular Features (Garden)], Lot of tiles indicate (G) but it seems there is no Garden  on them.

Sorry for the newbie remark :/

The meta info is embedded in the code, but not printed as of today. My idea was to add a this detail to the selector so you could select tiles with at least a field or only 2 fields, for example... Adding it as an annotation under each tile image would become very cumbersome...

The base game has multiple versions of the same tile configuration but HiG only provided one reference image for all of them in their tile list files for the sake of brevity.

Each tile version may include a feature in C2: a farmhouse, a garden, a shed,... or nothing. The reference list provides the reference image for a given edge configuration but it may not present the feature you selected.... So for a given tile, there may be a version with a garden, as indicated by (G) but the image does not correspond. This is why we keep the annotations.

Hope this helps.
