For me the better carcassonne for travel is travel carcassonne edition and für 2. You can fit both on carcassonne für 2 box. I use nespresso boxes for tiles.

Thank all for their much useful tips! In the meantime, I partially pardoned the Demo-Spiel as it eventually turned out to be a perfect option to play a quickie with my younger son (7 years) to fill the typically occuring 20 minutes breaks between going somewhere that were previously more than often an excuse for him to place himself in front of a TV to "kill time before we go". A quick 20-tile game is much better option, we even manage to keep the score without any score track or even a pen and paper.

This reminds me that I stare with amazement at DrMeeple´s score track neatly crafted on the lid of the metal box of his C42! I suppose it this addition was made by you? How did you do it? I´d love to have a similiar on my copy that I in the meanwhile ordered. For some reason, C42 was now much more difficult to find than 2 weeks back when I first started to look for it, dissapearing from BGG market and other usual providers. It took me a while to find a copy but now I can watch for a postman again.

I'm also using C42 when traveling, with a printed and plastified scoring track on the lid, extra sxoring meeples, plus king and robber tokens that award 3 points for biggest road and city

I did just order Carcassonne demo version and Carcassonne travel edition with "Le Sac" to mix with my Carcassonne for 2

And to include a few expansions rules, I added a meeple from standard Carcassonne to use as a big meeple (exp 1), and a fir tree and santa to place on the scoreboard to play it as a Saint Nicholas scoreboard (thanks Meepledrone for the hint

)

I'll post a picture when I receive everything

Sounds like that will make a nice set! Will you mix in the travel edition (old art) with the demo spiel (art style 2.0) and C42 (art style 2.1)?
Or have m available separately?

There is a difference between Le Sac and the bad that the Travel edition comes in though

Top left: Russian bag that came with the first 2 russian tiles
Top right: bigger bag with scoring track that comes with the travel edition
Bottom: Le Sac

I don't know if I'm gonna mix the C1 with the C2 tiles or not... I'll probably play with Cfor2 and demo version together only, and use the mini meeples from the travel edition.

Thanks for the info about le sac. I knew Le Sac was a very rare and expensive item, it seemed strange it could be available with an expansion worth 20 Euros.
I got confused by BGG's description that states the travel edition contains "Le Sac as counting table"

I think that needs updating on BGG, it's misleading because "The sack" in the travel edition isn't "Le sac"

That is a very misleading description indeed.
Le Sac is completely different and indeed much rarer. Is there anyone in BGG to ask to update the description?
