This is where international toy markets come together: renowned brands, toy novelties, trendy start-ups, buyers of large chains, independent retailers and a plethora of media representatives make the toy fair in Nuremberg, Germany, the most important event for the toy industry.

Rule book - 1st expansion - Inns&Cathedrals - page 2 - rule tile with crossing and inn

I did some correction reading for the German rules - short time before printing. I told HiG that is part of the rule was not clear enough. HiG has a different rule than zman games now.

Instead of the rule from zman games:
"The inn counts for the road heading left and the one heading right, but not the one heading down."

Here is the translation of the rule from HiG:

"A crossing without a small village in the middle divides roads. That means there are 3 roads on this tile. The inn belongs to the roads which goes to the right and to the left but not for the road which goes down."

Anything Else / Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
« on: December 24, 2015, 12:57:51 AM »
I wish for the whole Carcassonne community
a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Carcassonne-on-Tour will go on tour again in 2016.
As the years before, Carcassonne-on-Tour needs a new mini-expansion.

This year is the theme: "Kathedralen und Dome in Deutschland" / "Kathedrals and Domes in Germany".
The plan is one  mini-expansion with 6 new normal landscape tiles with kathedral /dome graphics, simular to the mini "Monasteries in Germany" from 2014.

Udo Schmitz (Carcassonne-on-Tour) has asked the members at the Carcassonne-Forum (CarcF) if we can search for nice kathedrals and domes in Germany and create an opinion poll.

At the CarcF forum we decided to look for around for kathedrals and domes  for each region of Germany (North, South, West, East and Middle).

And again there are two kathedrals and domes directly from HiG and Klaus-Jürgen Wrede:
-"Frauenkirche" in Munich
- "Kölner Dom" in Cologne

Here is the link to the topic at CarcF:
Suche nach Mini für Carcassonne-on-Tour 2016

Today - we have just started this project at CarcF.

The searching for possible kathedrals and doms runs till 15.12.2015
And the opinion poll will run till 30.12.2015

Official Rules / Sheep and Shepherd - "closed" farm
« on: December 07, 2015, 04:47:48 AM »
The German rules in the BigBox5 from 2014 have this special case included:

Sonderfall: Grenzt ein Spieler eine Wiese komplett durch Straßen oder Stadmauern ein, wird für diese Wiese sofort die Aktion "Herde in den Stall treiben" ausgelöst.

rough translation:
Special case: If a player surrounded a farm completely with roads or city walls, then the action "Herd the flock into the stable" triggers immediately for the shepherds farm.

That means when a farm is surrounded and "closed" with roads and cities - and it can't expand anymore. Then the score for the shepherd takes place.
The player earns points for the sheep, the sheeps go to the bag and the shepherd goes to the players supply.
The English BigBox rule is different than the German rule, because this special case was put in the German rule from the wishes of the correction readers for the German rule - short time before printing.

News and Events / 4.Fan-Meeting at Burg Konradsheim - Erftstadt, Germany
« on: November 25, 2015, 12:08:33 PM »
The 4th fan-meeting at Burg Konradsheim - Sunday 22 October 2015

I traveled through Germany on Saturday. I visited Ratz65 and on Sunday we went to the fan-meeting.

The fan-meeting was again a great day.

Sebastian Trunz was playing two rounds of simultaneous tounament against many other fans (one round against 6 players and the other round against 8 players). He has won 13 of the 14 games. Only one opponent player has won against Sebastian Trunz. Sebastian was a CC-World Champion and he is the CC-German Champion.

There was also a CC-Über Stock und Stein tournament.

Our CarcF group was playing a game CC-Über Stock und Stein and later we played a prototype of the next spin-off game.

Here are some photos at CarcF:

Here comes a small picture.
The players forgot to score finished features during the game and all meeple are still on these features. How many points do they get? And how many points do they get at the final score?

The exhibition "modell-hobby-spiel" in Leipizig, Germany from 02.-04.10.2015:

Some English information:
modell-hobby-spiel is the biggest consumer event for model building, model railways, creative arts, games and toys, for visitors from the five eastern states of Germany, for Bavaria and Hessen as well as for visitors from the Czech Republic and Poland.

It is taking place for the 20th time in 2015.

In 2014, 658 exhibitors from 10 countries presented a comprehensive industry overview and unveiled new products. Workshops and lots of offers to try out encourage people to get involved in all areas and demonstrate how nice it can be to have a hobby.

Since 2009, the "Graf Ludo" game graphics award has been presented at modell-hobby-spiel
I will go on Saturday to Leipzig.
But this year I don't  go to the "Graf Ludo" prize-giving ceremony.
The ceremony is this year on Friday in the same hall as the booth from HiG.

The nominees for the award has two cathegories - each cathegory has 2-3 nominees:
- best graphics in family games
- best graphics in children games
Graf Ludo - Nominees

The graphic artists with the best graphic will get the award.
At the booth at HiG / Carcassonne-on-Tour with Udo Schmitz
- the new Spin-Off "Carcassonne-Über Stock und Stein"

Klaus-Jürgen Wrede will sign the games and also the autograph cards and his new book.

Some tournaments with Carcassonne take place.
The photo shows the booth from HiG - sorry for this small picture, but I've got only this small one from Udo.

CundCo Shop - coming soon with new system and navigation

I've got an email from CundCo:

Quote from: 'CundCo - by email - bing-translator '
In a few days, we're going with a new Carcassonne & co online shop launched! A new system, better navigation, everything seems fresh and contemporary. And finally there will be an English-language version.

We like to refresh the product descriptions for all of our products. Some descriptions of the mini expensions are thin or aren't saying anything important.  And who could be better to bring the benefits of the various mini expensions to the point as the Carcassonne fan community?

If you like to help us with a small descriptions for each mini expansion that would be great. If you feel like so, then could you formulate 2-3 sentences for each mini expension about describing what makes the mini expension? It conveys only a first impression... We would be happy, if you could support us there!

the native English speaking moderators - please help with the correct wording - kettlefish

CundCo - Mini-Erweiterungen (Mini-Expansions) - we need the help especially for the Carcassonne mini-expansions.

The author of the spin-off "Carcassonne - The Castle" Reiner Knizia has posted at his homepage download files for the never published expansion "The Falcon"

Here is the link to the homepage from Knizia
