Hi all,
I couldn't find any information about this on WICA.
If red has a road with one of his meeples and his builder.
At the beginning of his turn, red draws a tile with a city gate and places it so that the city gate closes the road.
Is red:
- Granted a builder extra turn, since he placed a tile in prolongation of his road
- Not granted an extra turn, since the tile placed doesn't add any new segment to the road
A note about this on WICA would be great :yellow-meeple:
-
In my opinion it shouldn't grant extra turn, as it is not expanding the road, just ending it, similar like it works with the Abbey.
-
Good point, seems logical!
Meepledrone? A note about that on the City Gates WICA page would be helpful :yellow-meeple:

Exactly! :)

Hi guys!
I totally agree. A city gate edge behaves the same as an abbey edge.
Clarification added to WICA. ;D

Perfect, thanks :yellow-meeple:

What expansion includes "city gates"?
-
Expansion "The city gates"

Thank you!

Only expansion which add road length one I know is Tunnel II 2015 which allow to place tunnel token to magic portal which is automatically close road on that side of tunnel and counter as road length 1.
City gates just granted to end roads but it is not road itself.
But it is fine that it is added to WiCa.

Or make your own (https://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/115962/variant-7-city-gates-walls-tb-tiles-surrogate) out of wood! ;)

I do not understand what you mean ???
There's no need of a magic portal to place a tunnel token anywhere on the board?
Road length 1 can be obtained by placing a city gate or an abbey next to any tile with a road ending?

Interesting, didnt know about these "official" PnP expansions released by HnG. It says this is the second. Are there more? What's the first? Or third?
-
See the expansions list here: https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Main_Page (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Main_Page)

The three initial official PnP expansion based on fan expansiones are:
* Easter in Carcassonne (for C1)
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Easter_in_Carcassonne_(1st_edition) (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Easter_in_Carcassonne_(1st_edition))
* The City Gates (for C1)
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/The_City_Gates_(1st_edition) (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/The_City_Gates_(1st_edition))
* The Fortune Teller (for C1 and C2)
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/The_Fortune_Teller (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/The_Fortune_Teller)
The WICA pages includes links to the HiG version of the expansions as well as the original fan expansions just in case you are interested. These expansions were selected by HiG from a candidate list from CarcF and CarcC as part of a collaboration that took several years (from 2013 to 2016).
Additionally, last year HiG released another PnP expansion for C2 but this is their own creation: The Land Surveyors.
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/The_Land_Surveyors (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/The_Land_Surveyors)
As a side note, HiG included some 10 Cut & Play tiles for C2 (actually C2.0) known as CutCassonne, hidden on the bottom of a promotional box.

So, as you can see, there is plenty of additional stuff beyond the core official expansions.
