Title: French version of the rules in pdf
Post by: Gagoune on November 21, 2020, 04:19:43 AM
Bonjour,

Voici LE SUJET FRANÇAIS (ou francophone) !  ;D
(English version below!  ;) )

Pour Carcassonne l'arche de l'alliance (Ark of the Covenant) :

------------------ English translation --------------------------

Hello,

Here is THE FRENCH THREAD !  ;D

No, seriously... It's only a thread to find French version of some rules... Other users have already worked on French version of different rules and many things have been done in that way. So, I think this is a good place to share all unofficial French translations. Unofficial because the French publisher has not published those expansions in our sweet language. So here are the links to the numerous files. We (I include every author of the files listed below) hope it might help you, the player to play with these expansions or even make you willing to buy them in order to try them out !

Carcassonne First Edition (C1):

Utilities for C1 & C2:

Carcassonne C1 expansion fully playable on C2 design (rules in C2 style):

Carcassonne New/Second Edition (C2):

For Carcassonne the Castle (die Burg)

For Carcassonne Ark of the Covenant :

French thread for fan-made expansions here ! (https://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=5022.0)

NOTE: For the files I've made, I have decided to add the WiCa references and notes so the files will be as complete as possible. I've also decided to use the design of the big box 6 and the C2 mini expansions rules to make them.
Hope you'll like those rules and helps and to read your thoughts about them... ;D

Hi Gagoune,

You could add a listing of the available rules to your initial post in this topic and keep it updated. This way we could find a comprehensive list of all the additions you may do in the future in one place.  ;D

+1 merit from me for the initiative.

Cheers!

Hi Gagoune,

I would also include in the list the actual links to the files in the Download area.

Just in case, here is an example with The Watchtowers:

-
Carcassonne: The Watchtowers French Rules (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=499)

To get this, in the message to insert the following BBCode "tags":

- [url=http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=499]Carcassonne: The Watchtowers French Rules[/url]

Cheers!

@cicerunner : Yes, someone told me about spreading them !  ;D :(y)

@Meepledrone : Thank you ! I was looking for a way to do so. Now, it is updated !  O:-)

I'm doing the translation by using the WiCa visual timeline... And I'm in the middle of the maps !

Salut Gagoune, (sorry, no English translation here)

Mais encore merci pour tes infos !  8)

Hello every one... Sorry, only in french after this ligne !  :)

Bonjour Linksux,

J'espère avoir (partiellement sans-doute) répondu à ta question. A bientôt !

Bonjour Linksux,

Hi,

Maybe you can add rule translations made by other users to your first post's list, to make it easier for French users to see every rules available in French (of course, without forgetting to mention the author's name):

Hello Corinthiens13,

I understand your demand. At the beginning of that thread, I only wanted to share French version of the non-existing French rules for new (or older) expansions AND adding the WiCa's ressources with a lot of datas.

But I think you're completely right. The thread is not to enlight my works but to help French speaking players all around the world... Spread the (good ^_^') word !

So I'll do it. If you think there can be a beter way to promote French translations, let me know ! And thank you for your good idea !

You should come and help on the Wica too !  O:-) :))

EDIT : Ok, have a look now ! And say me if it's ok like that !  ;)

Hi,

That's perfect ! I'm sure it's gonna help a lot of Carcassonne fans to have this list of every existing translated rules !

I know there's a lot of work to translate WICA too, but for now I don't have the time to do this. I'm keeping my French CAR up to date as I'm using it regularly when playing, and that's taking enough of my time (well, that's taking too much of my time according to my wife  ::)

Well, if you ask it... One final step to promote French translations a bit more would be to... Translate your first post in French  ;D
You could add twice the text, once in English, and then in French  ;)

Anyway, that's an awesome work you've been doing, thanks a lot !

I posted a reply, but no official clarification is available as of yet. I had some questions in my list for HiG regarding the dos and don'ts affecting this case though.

But I have to be patient as HiG does not have enough to handle all the open questions I have at once. Still dealing with Peasant Revolts from my first batch.

Here are two vocabulary questions, as I didn't use the same wording for my French order of play than you did for this French rule.

  • Easter nest - Nid de Pâques- Nid d'oeufs (I searched both wordings on google, "nid d'oeufs" didn't get any easter related contents

What do you think?

Oh, I forgot:

Here are pictures of easter nest and easter bunny "à toute fin utile".

And maybe you can add a link to download the tiles, either directly on the pdf rules, or in the download's description.

Hi,

Thanks for your contribution! Very well done, +1 merit from me  :yellow-meeple:

Here are two vocabulary questions, as I didn't use the same wording for my French order of play than you did for this French rule.

English word - the word I used - the word you used
  • Easter in Carcassonne- Pâques à Carcassonne- Festival de Pâques (I don't know how it is where you live, but in Switzerland, we do not call Easter a festival  ??? )
  • Easter nest - Nid de Pâques- Nid d'oeufs (I searched both wordings on google, "nid d'oeufs" didn't get any easter related contents

What do you think?
Hello there !

Hm I think you’re right,

I hesitated between these terms so I will adjust the text to your order to play in French

Also, good idea, i will include the download link in the file!

----------

Ok, that's translated in both languages, but i'll continue to post in English (even not perfect one!) on the website! ;)

Nice job, thanks !  :(y)

One correction:

I'd say:

Thanks for the memo! I completely forgot this file! I've added the link to the thread!
Don't worry, the WiCa already had this link!  ;D

Do any of you know if the rules of Carcassone: the Ark of the Covenant are available in French somewhere?  :yellow-meeple:

Hi linou,

Welcome to the forum and to the world of Carcassonne!

If you also want to check the rules online in French, check WICA here:
https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Main_Page/fr (https://wikicarpedia.com/index.php/Main_Page/fr)

You'll find French translations of all the new edition rules and even some from the classic edition...  ;D

The ones not available in French are still in English:
https://wikicarpedia.com/ (https://wikicarpedia.com/)

Have fun!

Good motivation. But I'm not able to do this, due to whole development on JCZ is on @farin. But I pushed to him for more that year to allow fan expansions in game. Currently he works on online game. So than it can come i13n version :)
