Clarification of rules (The Summer) - with HiG - 02 04 2025

I sent a few questions about The Summer to HiG and we got the following clarifications.

[Q1] Do water wells grant points when placing a summer tile? You may find them in cities and at crossroads.


Example: A well in a city and at a crossroads.

[A1] No they don't.
They would fit thematically, but the water wells are too small and hidden in the middle of the cities, which would be too confusing in a larger game.

This means that wells in cities, at croassroads and on roads will be ignored by the summer tiles to simplify the summer bonus scoring.

[Q2] If a summer tile is placed adjacent to the double-sized tile with the river source, does it grant 2 points per half tile? If the answer is yes, the active player would score 6 points for the tile placement in this example.


Example: Summer tile placed adjacent to the double-sized river source.

[A2] Yes, you get 6 points.

Each half of the souble-sized river source counts as a separate tile for the summer bonus.

But what if only one half of the double source tile is in the area of the summer tile being placed?

You only consider the halves adjacent to the summer tile.

In this regard, I received some other clarifications I haven't posted yet affecting Watchtowers and Exp. 8 castles... I need to complete these clarifications with a few more questions, but it seems seems that when looking for features (roads, cities, watchtowers, water...) on double-sized tiles (and therefore on wonder tiles or 2x2 tiles) only the adjacent square spaces are considered.

It sounds reasonable to me (the grid rules), but I need to see what happens when looking for meeples (e.g. watchtowers).
