I have not noticed that there were 2 different pictures. Once I have enlarged picture 2, I no longer saw picture 1. ::)

I am not sure, but Game Figures seem to suggest that the ghost should be placed back where it was.

It is correct, I would say. There is nothing in the rules that would suggest otherwise.

IMO, both interpretations are correct.

I always assumed that this tile has only 1 field. But I do not know about any official clarifications in this regard.

An abbot can use a flying machine, if that is what are you asking. As clarified in 3/2015.

Applying an inn to a city would be like applying a coat of arms to a road.  :)

No, you cannot capture special figures. The builder (Exp. 2 - Traders and Builders), the pig (Exp. 2 - Traders and Builders), the barn (Exp. 5 - Abbey & Mayor) and the shepherd (Exp. 9 - Hills & Sheep) are special figures and thus, you cannot capture them. However, if a builder or pig remains alone in its feature because the last supporting meeple of its color in that feature has been captured (or removed through any other means, which is possible when playing with various expansions), then that builder/pig automatically returns to its player's supply. For example, if you play with red, and there is a city with 1 red meeple and the red builder, then if that red meeple is captured, the red builder will automatically return to your supply.

If you ever have questions about various figures, go to Game Figures WICA page and select the expansion(s) you are playing with. Look after "can be captured by tower?" text; this says whether a given figure can be captured or not.

You can check the annotated rules of Traders and Builders here, and the annotated rules of The Tower here.

No, cities are parallel with inns. The cities consider, however, the cathedrals.

If you ever have questions about scoring, go to Scoring During Turn Sequence WICA page and select the expansion(s) you are playing with.

You can check the annotated rules of Inns and Cathedrals here.

* You can now use a flying machine to land your builder (buildingmaster) on a tile.

The builder cannot be a flier.

a) 0 points (no effect - special case for abbots and acrobats): This was my initial thought for a brief period of time, but it seemed too easy for an abbot could shake off any ghost this way. I thought that if ghosts can remove an abbot, it should also affect its scoring. The same logic would apply to acrobats. The rules do not link the ghost penalty to the completion of a feature but to the participation of a meeple in a scoring.

This is the only option that is consistent with the bonus of 3 points from the fairy.

Official Rules / Re: Moving the fairy (castles and wagons)
« on: February 19, 2024, 11:34:17 AM »
So the dragon is capable to enter both tiles located partly below the castle token with the fairy?

That's how I understand it: you can assign the fairy to a meeple placed in a castle (lord). If the fairy is assigned to a knight that turns into a lord, then the fairy will stay assigned to that meeple, that is, it moves from the city to the castle. If the fairy is assigned to a lord, the fairy does not protect any tiles. The lord cannot be eaten by the dragon, but the dragon can step on the 2 tiles with the small city segments underneath the castle, as the fairy does not protect them.

This is great news! I am also intrigued due to those 4 C1 expansions being featured! Maybe HiG plans to convert to C3 some of them, The Besiegers at least? The rules for some of them are even featured with the C3 logo!
