I can now see what you mean by the field colour being different on the festival tiles. What I find surprising is that it perfectly matches the tiles from Abbey and Mayor (the road ending in the field).

I would of thought that after almost 2 decades of making the game HiG could get colors right.

Don't underestimate the complexity of colour matching.

My printer decides to perform differently based on how much ink is left in the cartridge. I'd hope an industrial printer wouldn't do such a thing, but you're assuming the same printer and materials are being used!

But surely they can control the variables you mentioned?

I have many shades as well. After Big Box 6 came out I switched my previous base game, T&B and I&C tiles (now they make travel set) with that new ones. Previous were darker. New ones looks like they have more yellow ink grass and they are more light blurry colorful. Not that it's better or I like it more but they are better/closer fit with most of other expansions (like P&D, Festival or Circus - also more yellow ink). It looks like with time they are getting more or less "cartoonish". One exception: Watchtowers have very dark grass… but definitely Japanese Gardens are odd in all ways.

My Base Games + I&B + T&B have the same art work, P&D + A&M are the have different cities, A&B has different fields and I'm not sure about Under The Big Top (do we have an abbreviation for this because UTBT looks weird) .
