Thickness of tiles

Has anyone used chipboard from DickBlick's to create custom tiles ? They have 2 sizes available : "Double thick (0.10 inches) is approximately 30-ply and Single thick (0.05 inches) is approximately 14-ply."

I love when they mix decimal w/fractions. Double thick is between 3/64 and 1/16 and Single thick is close to 7/64. I'm thinking single thick is the closer thickness.

I was thinking on printing some backs and prints of Cathars, custom tiles (thank Novelty for some hints/tips), etc. - running it through the adhesive side of our Xyron and making some tiles. I would stick the entire sheet to the chipboard and cut from there - hopefully it will give a cleaner edge (just need to align the front and backs).

I did some searching on this site but didn't see anything specific about the thickness (can't find my scale to measure a tile).

Carc tiles are 2mm thick, which is roughly 1/16". My ruler doesn't measure smaller than sixteenths; it might be closer to 5/64"? I think I just found an excuse to buy a digital caliper...

Using my cheap plastic woodworking caliper with measurement markings, tiles appear to be 2mm thick. 2mm = 0.0787 inches.

I also tried my more-accurate steel calipers, then measured that against my more accurate steel ruler that measures to the nearest 1/100th of an inch.  This method produced a measurement of 8/100ths of an inch every time for 3 different tiles, which I believe is a more accurate measurement than the 2mm. 8/100ths of an inch = 2.03mm.

I feel inclined towards the metric measurement because I expect a German game more likely to use metric than Imperial measurements. That extra 0.03mm could be from the paint.
