Earlier today, Saturday, we started a six player mega game of Carcassonne. After little over 4 hours we managed to finish a third of the draw tiles, and of course a longer break is needed.
  The game might continue later during the night!

Testing to play with as much accuracy we can to the rules from CAR 6.4 but already we threw a few things out the window after about an hour of play!  :@

Included in this game session is:
1. Base game with River I
2. Wheel of Fortune
3. Big box 3, entire content
4. The Catapult
5. 2x Princess and the Dragon expansion boxes
6. 2x Traders and Builders expansion boxes
7. 3x Towers
8. Each of the six mini expansion along the seventh, Crop Circles
9. The Plague
10. Windrosen I
11. Count, King and Robbers (Z-man games)

Think that's all of them. We excluded the Phantom, forgot to bring them with me.
  I'll post pictures as the game progresses.

Here is the setup before we play:


Here is our starter set:


In the middle is from left to right:
1. Starter tile
2. Windrosen I starter tile
3. A draw tile with only one city side
4. Another starter tile

And this is after the River was placed:


The river rule we have is, it must be placed outwards left and right but can also be placed on the same row up and down.

It's almost 7 am here and two third of the tiles has been drawn. Few hours of sleep earlier but now it's time for breakfast!

Sunday, 12:20. Doing final packing before heading home!

Game time was approximately 9 hours. The last few hours everything was just a blur. We forgot to use the Little Buildings, Bridges the red abbey tile.

The Catapult didn't work at all, or at least not properly. Just flung high up in the air and straight down. We gave up and just awarded the player with 5 points. :@
  A lot of rules we started skipping or change during the game, as we found out just how insane doing everything by the book. There was not a lot of scoring because the dragon flew everywhere, literally.  :)) Three dragon expansion sets! And then there was the Tower. That too, as mentioned in the CAR notation somewhere, the first tower piece will not catch adjacent as said in the official rules. It's just too imbalanced. We will use this rule next time.

Some statistics:
1. Biggest farm caught 21 cities (1 player).
2. Biggest city consisted of 30 tiles (2 players sharing).
3. Biggest road had 12 tiles.

Final scoring:
494 Green
452 Blue
352 Black
414 Red
465 Yellow (me)
466 Gray

What a crazy game! How many tiles did you have altogether?

I didn't quite follow what you were saying about the Tower rules and it being imbalanced.

+1 Merit for sticking with it to the end, giving a cool report with great pictures, coming in 3rd and attempting to use the Catapult!
I just drew the perfect tile for my MonKnighThieFarmer!

Thank you! It was quite a challenge!

Regarding the tower rule; The original says one tower piece has five tile area where it can capture, which seems too powerful.

Next game we'll be using this house rule mentioned in CAR 6.4 suggested by keyofnight.

Congrats on the intestinal fortitude shown by all!   :)

That is how we play, and it seems to work.  1 Tower piece means one tile in each direction.  That counts five tiles including the tile with the Tower base.  2 Tower pieces mean two tiles in each direction.  Does not seem overly power, and getting to somone who is three or for tiles away can make a serious hole in the Tower pieces you start with.
