Funny story, my BB1 did.
When i bought it online (Second hand but i remember it being through Amazon), it came with the 5th expansion (Abbey&Mayor) included, as well as the 5 shrines and 5 King and Scout tiles from the 6th expansion (at least with that watermark)
I still keep those tiles in the BB1 :)

I do love their pledge on the 'About Us' page:

At least they offer the 5th best customer service you will never get  >:D

For example, the BB5 is indispensable. The rest of Big Boxes are absurd unless you have OCD and need all BB so you don't have an anxiety attack. Although I think we all here have OCD to a greater or lesser extent hahaha.
Yes, that would be weird...

General / Re: combining all starting ways?

I've combined all the starting tiles once in a mega-carcassonne.

This include River 1, 2 and 3 (and the spring tile from the GQ expansion), Wheel of Fortune, City of Carcassonne, Windroses 1 (i think we did use the Windroses 2 tiles, but not the starter), school and of course the standard starting tile.
We only used one of each (apart from the 4 different river springs), to not fill the table with starting tiles only

It worked very well i think, as it gave a lot of options for the rivers (many river tiles and many rivers to work on), and made for high scoring during our early turns.

I would say combining them can work, but would still keep it limited to 1 of each (apart from rivers). More schools.WoF's, cities, Windroses might not work well.

They are often indeed Chinese replicas.
You can tell by the strange box arts (like combinations of different expansions and different publishers)
Tile quality is usually bad, with shiny finish, or low resolution
I remember there being a replica like that from the "Belagerer" expansion, where they actually printed the artwork on the wrong side of the tile

General / Re: Acquire all expansions, but in what artwork?

And yes, the old artwork is no longer produced.
The Base game and some expansions are widely available (even new), but many of the small expansions have been produced in limited quantities, so can be hard to find these days.
The count is pretty easily found, but the tunnels is a prime example of a hard to find expansion.
Expansions from Spielbox magazines seem to all be difficult to find, as well as CC1, as even HiG have stated that CC2 (that comes with the mini's) is the current version that they support.

And to add to that, the vineyards you refer to from big box 6 are gardens, those are for the Abbot expansion, that is only in the new art.

Big box 5 has vineyards for the Sheep&Hills expansion
Bix box 6 has gardens for the Abbot expansion

Those are recognised by HiG, and have been printed as official tiles.
Not stickers.

But if we are to have la Porxada on the list, I will campaign to have the British Moustaches on the list to! Recognised by Carcassonne Central, and signed by Klaus  :o

Translators are great, but this is still an English speaking forum, and to help everyone in understanding the conversation, it is preferred to keep it that way.
In private messages any language can be used of course, but the (public) forum is English spoken

General / Re: In which piece of carcassonne have you spent more money?
« on: April 12, 2019, 10:56:11 AM »
We all have our own view on what we want to collect, and what we are not interested in, and that's fine!
For a long time I was not interested in the new artwork, but when the big box 6 was announced, I started to be interested, and started to collect the new art as well.
Still the old art will have the most expensive items, as there are more exclusive expansions, which are often hard to find and definitely more expensive. I was lucky by finding the Müller box in Austria on a second hand website. Still in seal! The owner didn't know it was rare, so got it for a good price.

It is indeed a much debated and always interesting topic to discuss.

I think it is always depending on what you feel appropriate to spend, and prices change a lot over time.
it is difficult for me to say what i spent the most on. I once bought a box full of Carcassonne items, including some rare items (that was why i bought it), such as the CC1, Le Sac, Cathars, and lots more. I spent around €200 on the box, but sold a lot of items on, so made some money back from that. So i can't really say how much i've really spent on those items.

I think the most i've spent would be on the 2nd set of Russian tiles. Funnily enough i found 1 of the tiles separately, and had 3 out of 4 Russian tiles collected.
However, i did want that last tile, and i found a deal for the second set together for about €40 i think. I think that is the most i've spent tle by tile.
Most i've spent on 1 item is the Carcassonne Limited Edition (Rio Grande edition), the golden box.
I've bought that from the US, so spent around €100 with the shipping to the UK.

(and i think for some forum members, the recent Carcassonne Limited Collectors Edition will easily be the most expensive item they've ever bought - €649)

I think that Cundco have found an issue that seems to be costing them a bit..

They now state on the website that the Carcassonne Maps can only be ordered on their own, in a maximum of 5.
I guess that the shipping is more costly for them if they need to combine it with other products.
When i ordered mine it was possible to combine, and i got it in a rectangular box with a smaller box taped to it with the other products.

I think the order they are in are correct from when they have been released.
The Spiel Doch Mini Expansion doesn't really have a good name, so i would suggest to keep it as is.

And Carcassonne Safari would go with the rest of the Around the World series. I'm not sure where Carcassonne Maps: Germany could go? Or is it not enough of an expansion to list?

I'm on the case. Just give me a year or two to get around to it...

i know it hasn't even been close to a year or two, but with more recent releases, would it be possible for any of the Admins to update the profile section with the following?
- Spiel '18 tile
- German Monastaries (New Art)
- The Barber Surgeons (New Art)
- Carcassonne Around the World - Safari
- Spiel Doch mini expansion
- German Castles (New Art)
- Carcassonne Maps - Germany (New Art)
Please not the Special Limited Edition because my OCD won't allow me to now buy it to uphold my complete 'Owns' Collection

A bit unexpected, but today the postman decided to visit me once more!

The map is printed on quite strong material, and is looking nice!
It has a QR code at the bottom, that states to lead to both German and English rules, although currently only German are actually available :P
But the English version has been announced, so then that will be fixed :)
