Official Rules / Re: The Plague: Question on Eradicating an Outbreak

Hi Buldeo,

I agree with Whaleyland's comments.

Regarding your question, your interpretation is right. The second paragraph is just a side note about how a swarm can be split and some fleas turn inactive as a result. This splitting won't lead to an outbreak eradication by itself.

The rules of The Plague are a source of much controversy as they don't follow the typical turn structure. For example, fleeing the plague or spreading the plague do not happen at a particular moment during a turn as of today.

Put simply:
If you run out of fleas, the lowest numbered Outbreak is eradicated (the number token is flipped) and any fleas connected to it (that aren't also connected to an active Outbreak tile) are turned to their passive side.

If any active fleas are disconnected from an active Outbreak (such as by removing one to place it elsewhere, which can happen when all 18 fleas are active), then all of the fleas in that group are turned to their passive side. The outbreak remains active but there are just no fleas connected to it.\

I hope that helps a bit.
Official Rules / The Plague: Question on Eradicating an Outbreak

I am very confused with this rule taken from Wikicarpedia:

Eradicating further Outbreaks
The next Outbreak (and always the token with the lowest number currently in play) is only eradicated when there are no more latent flea tokens which could be moved at the start of a player's turn.

It is also possible to divide a swarm of fleas by choosing to move one of them. As soon as an active flea token is no longer connected to an active Outbreak, it is turned onto its passive side. Therefore, fleas which are not connected to an active Outbreak are always inactive.

What does the second paragraph mean?

My wife thinks that it's an alternative to Eradicating further Outbreaks. When there are no more latent Flea tokens, you can choose between Eradicating the Outbreaks token with the lowest number, OR you can move an Active Flea token? And if you can move an active Flea token, is it only in the case that a single movement of a Flea token would allow to divide a swarm?

I don't think this way...

When there are no more latent Flea tokens, I think you must Eradicating the Outbreaks token with the lowest number. After that, if there is only one left active plague region, you don't have any another choice but to move an active Flea token. By doing this, if you divide the swarm, then you turned all the Flea tokens that is no longer connected onto its passive side.

What's the good meaning?

I was surprised to find my package arrived today, Jan 21. The tracking numbers suddenly updated with the package in Minneapolis. Apparently all I needed to do to get things moving was to complain publically  ;). I'll reply back to CundCo and let them know. Thanks Meepledrone for your advice!

General / Additional meeples for multiple basegames
« Last post by Klink010 on January 21, 2020, 01:10:02 AM »
Hi everyone,

I wanted to know how many meeples you normally add when just adding basegames.
Last time we played a big game with multiple expansions, so there were a few extra wooden figures and we had the Tower to retrieve a few meeples, but I can imagine having a shortage of meeple when playing without retrieval opportunities like the Tower, Catapult, Princess or Dragon.
Since I still like a big game of Carcassonne, but don't want it to be too overwhelming for new players, I thought about just playing with multiple basegames (I have 5, but want to keep at least 1 separate to not have any sorting issues).

Additionally I was thinking about starting with a Mega-River (River 1 CIIx3, River 3 CIx1, River 2 CIIx1 CIx2), but maybe having a marked set of meeple only to be used during the river phase (since you wouldn't be claiming too many features otherwise or would have too many meeple afterwards when adding just additional figures)

Any thoughts?
I was thinking 2 or 3 meeple per additional basegame (still only one Abott) and one set (7/8 meeple) for a big '7-river phase'

I should take my 100 backing this week, almost 3 years since everything have begun here, but a lot of great games and accessories.  :black1-meeple:

Hi cgschwarz7,

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your order. This Christmas season caught HiG off guard with many employees on sick leave. As a result of this in addition to the proper vacations of their staff, they are responding slower than usual to their service account .

I had an issue with an order to Cundco a couple of months ago when the sent me half the order forgetting about all the Maps and some expansions I had order. I contacted them by email and I got the rest of the order without any further issues... I just had to wait for the second part of my order. So IMHO the bottomline is that they are always willing to help.

Regarding delivery times, I got a similar version of your issue (but the other way around across the Atlantic Ocean) with an order to Meeplesource I submitted on November 26th 2019. I received it on January 18th 2020... It was stuck at Customs in Spain since December 7th 2019 as per the international tracking. I even received another order from MeepleSource on January 2nd 2020 that I had submitted later on December 12th 2019... So deliveries are behaving randomly during this last month.

So I hope it is just a delay due to the overwhelming number of packages sent during the Christmas season. In any case, contacting Cundco may help you if they have more info about the order tracking or at least to explore other options with them. It is better than just sitting tight waiting for your order.

Good luck in any case!

Dear Carcasonne fans,

I placed my first order with Cundo on Dec 4 (paid 30 euro for shipping to USA), ordering all the Carc 2 expansions that are not available in the US. DHL tracking for my package has not updated since Dec 16, when they said "The shipment will be transported to the destination country/destination area and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization." There is a tracking number for USA postal service, but this is also in "Pre-Shipment" as they have not received it from DHL. I've emailed Cundco once on Jan 3 and again on Jan 12, but did not receive any response except for the automated "thanks for your e-mail; we will respond in a few days" message. From DHL's policy, the next thing to do is to open an enquiry with them (DHL) so they can find the lost package, but the seller (Cundco) must do this; they refuse to do it for the buyer's request. I have also called Cundco's service telephone several times but it goes straight to a recording that says to e-mail instead.

Has anyone ever had a simliar situation with Cundco? Do you have any advice for how I can get them to respond and take action?

Thank you for any advice!
