I've said before and I'll say it again; this has turned out to be a very impressive and extensive post!
Thank you again for bringing me on board; I loved digging throigh all the boxes and discussing the wonderful rabbit hole of Carcassonne
I also learned new things, but most of all loved to nerd-out on something like this

+1 merit from me too, for making this great write up!

well I disagree, I think there is one source river tile which is different ;)

Worth the price !!!

2 actually, the river lake has a monastery in this one!
So worth getting 2, or 3, or 4!

From what I've seen, most publishers have it as the same as BB2017. Almost like the box art is the only difference. Same article number, same listing on their website, etc.
But we probably want to be able to distinguish between the 2 different boxes, as we also do with base games.
We would usually refer to a base game by its printrun edition, or sometimes by year, so we could do the same for these.
I like BB7, just because it's short. It is silly, to have arbitrary numbers that we assign to the big boxes, but I find it easier to remember than what year they first came out (also as some publishers might be a bit later with releasing it, naming what we call BB2021, BB2022 for example)
And it keeps us busy  ;)

Yes, there's a few things missing from the page ;)

I have also been working on my own offline version of the page, to have a more visual way to mark off what i've been able to get.
For example:

Funnily enough my collection of German boxes is behind a bit, but that will be something to work on in the future

i do keep an inventory file with everything i have; started doing that fairly recently. It's an organised file (or at least i like to think so), but haven't got it anywhere online. As i'm still tweaking it, it keeps changing and i mainly use if for myself to check if i have or haven't got a spare, or certain edition.

I usually use the Collections&Expansions page on the WICA in combination with the file, to see if i have or haven't got something yet

The Carcassonne Museum is still taking in new additions prior to opening, and the Postman seems to know this.

Got 3 packages in 1 go this morning!

On the left is an Australian base game by Ventura games. They did a similar thing to PixelPark in New Zealand, by taking an RGG box and slapping their own logo on it somewhere. Although this one only has the 1 Ventura logo, and all around the box are RGG logos :P

And a 3rd edition RGG one; i thought i only had the 4th one (which has the text of the Free River brilliantly photoshopped on it), so got this one :)

and underneath is a RGG Big Box 1 :D It differs ever so slightly from the HiG BB1, as the RGG one came with the River, and HiG BB1 didn't

second hand, the old winter edition is actually a bit easier to find.
The only 2020 WE i've been able to find just now is this one
There are more on BGG, but prices are quite high there

I'd would suggest BGG for South Seas though, as the prices seem fairly ok to me (of course up to you)
To be found here

It seems both have seem limited print runs, and through that have become rare.
I was surprised to see Halflings 2 get this status, as i remember it coming out through Cundco as normal, but that's how it sometimes goes

Over the holiday period i spent some time in Italy, meeting up with my partner's family and enjoying some time off :)
Of course i had to visit lots of board game stores and try to get some local pick ups.
After visiting stores in many places, including Venice, Bolzano and Florence, i didn't find much more than a few things.
Stratagemma in Florence had the most, being Carc20, BB6, BB7 and a few expansions. Nothing too special, but a nice selection.

It wasn't until the last place i visited, Conegliano, that i found a few nice things. A small games shop happened to have South Seas, and 2 C1 expansions that i quickly relieved them off:

I was looking for an Italian base game, but just couldn't find it :(

Luckily the internets was still open throughout the holidays, so when i got home, i had a few things waiting:

Top row:
ZMG 2019 base game
ZMG France 2019 base game
Carcassonne The City Cardboard box (Really happy to have found this one!)
Giochi Uniti 2019 base game (Found it in the UK of all places!)

Bottom row:
Korean base game
ZMG 2014 C2.0 base game

And today i could add this little one:

I've now started to rearrange my storage, hoping to fit it all in nicely :D

Another great find! Congrats with getting these; you don't see them too often anymore

And complete is a relative term, but there will always be something else to try and somehow track down  ;)

Congratulations!
Welcome to the club! That is a great find! And I've always liked the river tiles with the game codes, although without the game they are just river tiles hahaha

A great addition to you collection!

It's the final countdown!

Haven't had too much time to prepare though.
I've been trying to write down all the posts on the forum, in case it crashes and I would be asked to re-write everyone's posts. But have not gotten everything written out.
So in the event of a total crash, I might not be able to re-write all the posts on the forum, so if you read (parts of) this post, post the forumocolypse, and youiss parts of some conversations; that is why....

That is quite a level of commitment to the distribution of the maps, to even cancel your trip for it!

It seems that we as the community find the new boxes and C2.2/C3 tile art a much bigger deal than any of the publishers
HiG did have some in the background of their stream, but that's all they've ever done to even acknowledge them hahaha

Great find Meepledrone!

This is great!
It shows a well thought out system, and effort put in to make it something useful for many players.

+1 merit from me for making this! It's things like this that boost the forum and lets people learn a new way if they want to
