Nice update Dirk.  Sounds like this mixes up the game somewhat.  I like the sounds of a mechanism to allow you to access different tiles from a separate supply.

Hopefully, we'll get to say hello Folky!

I'm deliberating what games to bring with me. I know there's going to be a fairly large library, but if it's anything like the UKGE, it'll all be ransacked within a few minutes!

Might keep it light:
SkullKing-unless Rich brings the new edition.
Peppers of the Caribbean.
7W Amarda,  if it's not in the library.
Dragon Dice, if Thesteve can make it
Carcassonne:The city

Welcome to the forum storgendibal!

That's some serious work, but it certainly looks like it was worth it!

The BR lego man seems to have a lot to be happy about. His shop had been open for 50years in 2013!

I picked up this from the PO today:

That's one heck of a big box.  In terms of volume, probably larger than Anachrony!  Meeple for reference!

In other news, I got some Dragon Dice from ebay.  I'm relying on TheSteveAllen to tell me which dice to use for a balanced game for novices!

Just a quick note to say we're heading to AIRECON.

It's a medium size gaming convention in Harrogate Friday 8th-10th March.  It has a small trade fair and seems to be mostly groups of folks playing games.  There's a big library of games, but we might take some of our own!

Mrs_Decar, Rich The Fish and I are heading there on the Friday, staying over in a nearby hotel.

Let us know if you're thinking of coming :(y)

But the rules dictates 5 tiles for 3 players, so I don't think they're expecting players to get the same number of 'special' tiles.
Also it's more likely players will get unequal number of Bath house tiles during a game.
With 4 tiles are 2 players, there are 16 possible outcomes.
6/16 of games will have both players drawing 2 tiles.
8/16 of games will have one player draw only 1 tile and 1 player draw 3.

And let's be honest, they'd wouldn't have put 71 tiles to play with if they wanted players to have an equal number of turns!

You play this expansion with 6 players at your own risk.  It is only intended to be played with the base game: 5 players.

Gotta love the 1980s vibe the veneer is giving off.
It looks a little: 'made in Hong Kong' too.
For 75€  I'd go with Basically Wooden!

Blackfire popped up on my radar yesterday for a pre-order from the USA.
I have a feeling they're a new distributor as I've not heard of them before.

This information has not been published by HiG.

Currently, they're only available in the Big Box.

I believe if I have my dates right, Carcassonne Central is 11 years old today (ot at least it will be in a couple of hours PST).

Interesting seeing a Final Fantasy card sleeve size marker at the bottom of the rules. I didn't think there was an affiliation with Asmodee.

Tile + farmer above the road: It is a risk, but you are almost 100% sure that you will have at least 3 points at the end of the game.

You have a lot less than 100% idea if you're going to get 3 points. There are 70 tiles left in the bag and 35 of them could be used by the other player to snag this from you.

General / Re: Favouritism Poll #8 - Spiel Tiles
« on: January 08, 2019, 03:53:04 AM »
After 25 votes the results are in.

2016—The Duel- 6 (24%)
2018—Hans' Piggy Roundabout - 6 (24%)
2015—Boardgames Cross Road - 3 (12%)
2017—Donkey Fiasco - 3 (12%)
2014—Game Hall 1 - 4 (16%)
None of them—I'm boring and only like old style tiles 3 (12%)

Pole positions go to The Duel and the Piggy Roundabout.

All these tiles are wonderful, long may they continue to be printed!

I'll keep the poll open, so feel free to continue voting, but consider this favourtism poll closed.  Thanks for voting.
