Online Games and Competitions / Re: Welcome Tournament 2016
« on: August 21, 2016, 07:43:01 PM »
Generally I like any tournament format where I end up winning.

On the other hand I also like elimination rounds based on overall league where 1st meets last, 2nd meets second last etc., preferrably best of 3 but reasonably best of 1. Each player gets to choose one mini and one regular exp or likewise.

I´ll play anyhow so anything is cool with me.

Concerning multiplayer game, I think it´s nice and cruel if it is only one game but a laaarge one (2h) with some exp that adds meeples.

My 5

General / Re: Moaning about HiG - Tiles and Meeple Colours
« on: August 13, 2016, 06:32:25 PM »
What really bugs me about HIG adding different meeple colours is that the big box with the wheel of fortune included pink and purple Meeples but failed to include the barn, mayor and wagon Meeples.  These 3 Meeples can be played quite well without the abbey and mayor expansion tiles.  I would have been happy to pay extra for that big box if it had included the full Meeple set in the additional colours.
I agree with you and sent a rather angry mail to Cundco/HiG about it, recieved no reply.

IF you want to add new colors, throw all meeples of those colours in the big box, if I liked the big box and buy another expansion, I don´t get pur/pin-meeples anyway. So as a newcomer I have to start off immediately by ordering extra meeples, not good in any way except short term profit.

Oh, wait, you don´t have those meeples to order separately in those colours yet, ah, so I have to buy a full set anyway, but then two weeks afterwards you release the abbot in those colours, so the ones I ordered and painted are useless now, maybe you could have told me after recieving an email concerning this exact issue?

Oh, so you say that it´s not actually WoF AND Carc, it´s actually basic Carc with some extra tiles with an extra print on them so if you play basic Carc you have ugly WoF-markers.

The fact that the printing IN THE SAME BOX is in a green more varied than a guacamole gone sour seems too obvious to even complain about.

I´m not going to rant much longer, but buying the BB5 and then recieving no reply to my mail made me loose most good will towards the company itself. The fact that there is a plethora of cool expansions of all sizes and game mechanics available on this forum and elsewhere and they decide to go for tile size changes instead before running empty on cloisters for expanding markets makes it seem as though what has been said here before is correct, they are either not trying, ran completely out of ideas or just not giving a damn.

If, as I fear, the next releases will ALL be re-painted old expansions and cloisters as described above as well as special unique tiles for collectors and german e-bay sellers, I´d appreciate If they´d just open the printing machine for personal prints and orders.

I still love the game.

So, my last game in the second round finally gave me some sweet victory. I played Daliles and after an early farmer met another early farmer the field was mine, and victory as well. When, however, Daliles managed to close the larger city in the south (unchallenged as I never thought he was going to close it), it became exciting.

In the end however I won 277-221.

If Decar wants a screenshot, Decar shall have one! (As soon as I get this damned shrinking thing to work for me)

I have spot prize suggestions:

Most different scores posted between 570 and 575

Most different colours used

First person to score 572

Player with the best beard

What do you think?
Best beard, ey?

This is a project i´m involved in, the video will be deleted in a few hours from now due to re-editing and stuff, but you may have time to see it and a quite grand beard, if I may say so myself. If you understand swedish, it´s a good song.

So, finally over 600 with a grand total of 603!

On the good side, every shield came into a cathedral city, most open roads are one tile stumps and there is only two small unfarmed fields. But there is also a very annoying 6p-cloister, one unclosed inn-road and quite a lot of small city pieces so there should be more to be had, but this is my final attempt.

(and, yes, I almost learned how to shrink images, two good things in one day!)

82
Still not crossing 600, but here is raising my points by one to 594 and I´ll post an image, even if it´s large. Now to spend the rest of the night finding 600...

83
My best attempt without counting, annoying not to cross 600, but 593!

Still not sure about the 12 pt farmer in the cccc-tile, probably costs too much in lost meeple placement.

From the other thread i found that Decar wrote:

"All players will be ranked after this stage and 'evenly' put into groups basic on their score.
EG:  {1st,4th,7th} (2nd,5th,8th} (3rd,6th,9th} for example.

Round 2 - BASIC And Rivers 1v3 (maybe 4)

We'll start with some 3 players in a game (so it's logistically easier to schedule games), but we might have to do 4, if there's 8 players.
This should be fun for those who like multi-player games.

1st - 3points
2nd - 2points
3rd - 1 point.
(tie for 1st/2nd = 2points each) , (tie for 2nd/3rd = 2 point each).

I'm considering a 3rd round, but dont want to ask too much of you all to start with - if we get 12 players maybe we can have 3 x 4 player games to finish so everyone's played some 2player, 3player and 4player games.

The overall winner will be the player who has acquired the most league points."

I play pinball competitions a lot, and we found that dividing groups 1,4,7 and 2,5,8 for example, is a disadvantage for the winner of qualifications since he/she gets to play better players, just saying that 4 groups from 12 players might instead be something like
A 1, 12, 8
B 2, 11, 7
C 3, 10, 6
D 4, 9, 5

My second question is if there was a third round last year and/or there will be one this year?

And another result from the very eager group B, What If-Daromar 118-97.

An early farmer from WI prompted D to get two farmers in there. WI stole the large city and tried to get a farmer in the major field. The first one got disarmed on the very next tile and in the end it was a long wait for WI waiting for the curve to share the field. Enjoyed it and thank Daromar for the patience.
Oops, sorry for the big pic.

Posted the first batch of parts. Still waiting for one or two arrested.
And now it arrived, many thanks for a beautiful phantom.

They are on the Waiting List so I thought I would redirect them here to make sure they don't miss out.  ;)

And thanks to that, I´m so in!

The Marketplace / Re: Ordering online at Cundco (HiG)
« on: May 16, 2016, 02:31:14 PM »
Since I want to make an order and today being sunday, I thought I´d give it a try here.

I want to order more than 5 count tableaus (we use them as player boards), but can´t make it work. How do I order 7 of them?

Thankful for any help.

Shipping from Cundco goes up dramatically if the order is over €10. So to get around the limit of 5, and to save on shipping, just make two separate orders.

But then I might not get my free tragetasche! I´m ordering for more than 10E anyway, but thank you nevertheless.
