News and Events / Re: Spiel 2016 - in Essen, Germany - 13.-16.10.2016

By the way:
if you have questions about the fair, the town Essen, the public transport or something related with the SPIEL be free to ask me (post or PM).
I will try to be helpful.

A few months ago I had the idea of building carpools from the fair to the Fan-Meeting in the evening.

Perhaps you could write, if you are coming by car or with public transport and need a hitchhike.
Then we could build carpools or could drive in a convoi from the fair to the Fan-Meeting.
Are these the CarcC-members coming to the SPIEL and the Fan-Meeting this year: Decar, MrNumbers, Skane, danisthirty, JT Atomico?

For those who will come to the SPIEL in Essen this year:
Link to the superb hall plans from user Alain Baum (DukeOfEarl) in the boardgamegeek-forum.
There are two versions: one A4- and one A3-version.

The best entrance (in my opinion) is entrance West. This will lead you to hall 3 and quickly to the Hans im Glück booth - right above the Kosmos booth.
This year the CundCo booth is in hall 7.

And additionally: an overview with some helpful links with information about the SPIEL (from user Daniel D.) .

Have fun with the preparations  ;D
Looking forward to meet you in Essen!  :(y)

Yesterday I received the Carcassonne-South Sea-Tile I "won" in the german CarcF Charity auction:

Tile 12

Translation of the german explanation found on the backside:
"This is an original tile of the prototype of Carcassonne South Seas Edition, drawn by the author KJW.
Totally the game Carcassonne South Seas consist of 97 tiles."

Thanks to Udo Schmitz for the fast delivery :(y)

The School
I don't want to include more than one school in the landscape and one tile (the left one) has already been signed by someone. So, if someone else wants to sign the right tile then that's fine as long as they post here so that nobody else does the same. But no more school tiles other than this please. C:-)
Uppss,
I think I missed the post where the tiles for the school were mentioned. Sorry! :-[
Few days ago I send you the school with the to tiles, but my name written over both of them.
If the right school tile is still available for signing I would like to send you this one instead.

Thanks Benny, sorry if I wasn't clear enough from the beginning. Please PM me with your address and I will send the other/ unsigned school tile to you so that you can sign it and return it to me.
No need to appologize! I made the mistake. I haven't read the whole thread before sending you the both school tiles with one signature  :-[

take a look at these - I just found them on ebay.

fun for a carcassonne convention but i think probably a little too geeky for any other time!
Think of those jandals / flipflops with "our" Carcassonne graphics  8)

Today I received the item which was really quick and an awesome surprise.
That's very good!!!  :(y)
After I found out that the bank number of the seller was false first, I expected some more problems.  ;)

Thankyou so much for your help and thanks Carcassonne Central for giving us members these types of opportunities.
Thanks for your praise, Rosco.
I like beeing helpful.

One week after the event you can find my pictures in the german forum:
Some impressions of the 3rd Fan-Meeting at Castle Konradsheim near Cologne (click to enlarge).
Sorry, that there are nearly no pictures from us (I don't really like to take photos from persons :-[ )

The first five photos show the Castle and the entrance.
The 6th is a photo of the small shop with material and games from CundCo
The 7th shows the table with the games we could play. These are nearly alle games from "Schmidt Spiele" the german publisher of Carcassonne.
The next two are photos from the playing room. The CarcF tables are in the 8th photo in the back right. There was another (smaller) room where the competition takes place.
On the last pictures kettlefish is looking very sceptical on a game of Goldrush from ArconDuke (with the nice cap), a friend of him and his girlfriend (not on the photo).

Your mentioned phrases are something like the following in german:
pass me the ball = pass den Ball zu mir  ... or ... spiel den Ball zu mir
pass left = passe links ... or ... spiel links

Tomorrow I will ask some colleagues who are still playing football.   ;)
My football-time is long ago. I could mention some, but I think I forgot a lot. ???

Hej Yellow,
but you must learn me / us the same in swedish  ;)
We can make a vocabulary and phrase lesson.

By the way: a few years ago I had some swedish lessons at an evening school for adults (folkhögskola).
But meanwhile I forgot most or better to say nearly all things, because I didn't used the language in the meantime (made other holidays not in Sweden).
So it will be good to refresh some things.
After 5 years I was in Sweden again for two weeks this summer, but just used some small phrases I remember. Had no time to refresh my swedish before.
Yes, it's a shame ...  :'(
