Title: Doris Matthäus signed tiles
Post by: kettlefish on April 19, 2016, 01:21:29 PM
Yashin-n,
you can be very happy - You've got a signed tile by Doris Matthäus herself - there are only a few tiles in the world which she signed.

Wow,
Kettlefish,
are you sure about the sign. Paul supposed that it  looks like Dan Chard sign.

I've send the German Monasteries - one tile signed by Doris Matthäus - to Paul last year in May 2015.

Oh, Paul. What have you done to your rarity.  :@

Next time, I'd like you to sell your Doris signed copy to me.  >:D

However: Congrats, Yashin-n!

I had around 15-20 mini expansions (German Monasteries, De Kloosters and Castles in Germany - signed by Doris Matthäus - The Castles of Germany have also the sign from Klaus-Jürgen Wrede) - the mini-expansions are now worldwide at their new owners. I think Doris Matthäus signed in total worldwide around 30-50 tiles. I will ask Udo Schmitz (Carcassonne-on-Tour).

Sorry didn't see the close up last night.

As wonderful as Dan is I'm pretty sure his ego isnt large enough to sign Carcassonne tiles and send them to members here as gifts.  You can see Dan's signature here:

Bottom right.

As kettlefish spotted, that's a Doris Matthäus tile!  You're incredibly lucky!

Would love to see a photo of those bags!

I express my appreciation to not only Paul but also Kettlefish  for distributing such valuable expansions which no doubt are of great interest for Carcollectors (who we are to a greater extent: players or collectors?).
So now it is the good question (for me) whether to use signed expansion in games or put it in a clear bag (with Essen-15 tile) as a rarity (and order another De Kloosters for playing from cuncdo.de)?

You  can play with the signed tile and have fun to look at it during the game play. The owner of the signed monastery gets some extra points.
Or you can put the tile into a frame and put it onto a wall.

Thank you Kettlefish for nice ideas. I'm also inclined to think that we need tiles to play them, but not keep it in boxes.

I hope Paul intended to send you that tile though.

That said, I do know there is a German Castles tile signed by Doris in New Zealand.

I just got a PM about this, for else I'd miss the thread entirely!

So, I sent off a signed tile by Doris herself? Darn. Here I was ashamed I'd get rid of a Dan scribble (no offense!)

Well, folks, this is what happens when trying to organize a stressful life. :(
