I am out Dan. I have too much going on in the summer time and it is very difficult to be available. Good luck to all! It's sure to be a challenge!

Hey Nick. Cool game.

I count 56 points in your second game. Did I count something wrong?

How is the Pro scoring different?

For the watchman at the very top right, did you count three forests horizontally to the left? It's only two because the next tower blocks the view of the third forest.

In the pro rules, there are two ways of scoring each feature instead of one. So the scores are higher and there's more to think about with each move.

Ah, I see it. I was thinking intuitively that the tower had to be occupied to block line of sight.

Looks like a neat little game.

I think the anomaly is the WoF. It's very strange that they granted any game affecting power to a tile that is getting discarded. But it is unique. That has to be the exception.

I would say, in every other expansion to date, if the tile gets discarded it triggers nothing. I think that's the standard, the WoF is the exception. Just my .02

And finally...
Carcking 188 <> Rosco 166

Well fought by Rosco with a 2 trapped meeple differential. A mistake late in the game with the dragon had me scrambling to secure the farm. We had a very active dragon in this one.

Now that they are moving to cathedrals/temples outside of Europe, I'm seriously expecting more countries depicted.
It'll be a nightmare, though. Think of about the flags emoji in iPhone.
As long as they are issuing them in Carc 0.2 my compulsion is not stirred. Here's hoping they continue the practice...  ::)

General / Re: Favouritism Poll #5 : Start Tile

I built a randomizer chart that we use so every game is different and we don't get stuck in a rut for what is comfortable, or that has easy rules that we remember. My randomizer also has the start tile randomized so that is different every time. I voted for the random start tile.

What time zone are you guys in? I am 5 hours behind UK.

I can play Saturday or Sunday morning this weekend - so say between 2 - 4pm UK time.
Let me know.

Chooselife and I were able to get our game in tonight and it was a nail biter the whole way. There was good dragon, princess and fairy play and a very good farm battle! I was lucky enough to draw one of the last of two dragon moves tiles at a very opportune time where I had the dragon trapped between two of Chooselife's farmers. He was forced to choose which farmer to lose, giving me control of the big farm. Fitting I guess considering I lost a farmer to the dragon earlier in the game.

There are 7 CFCF tiles in the game and I only needed one to really give myself a chance in the game. Chooselife drew 6 of them before I drew the last one. I was beginning to wonder.

I was able to trap 3 of Chooselife's followers with one dead spot in the first third of the game and he played excellently with that handicap. I wasn't able to capitalize on the advantage because I could not draw a tile to close a city through three quarters of the game so my followers were just as trapped. Scoring ended up being very muted.

Great epic game Chooselife! Thank you!

Thank you for the great game Rich_The_Fish! It was very enjoyable and I felt the luck factor was well balanced. That was refreshing.

Here are the screenshots:

Chuck and I just finished our match. It was closer than the score shows. There was a good battle for the farm but I was able to defend with some lucky tile draws.

Early in the game the dragon ate two of my followers out of the central city so Chuck was left there alone and looking good. Then I drew a princess a few turns later and closed the city with no one in. That was lucky. That would have got Chuck's score to 163 + 3 for fairy if he was able to close it and score it.

Late in the game I needed the CCRR tile to close the big city at the top - again a lucky draw.

It was a fun and close faught match. Thanks Chuck!

Check out this thread for some ideas.

We use d6 dice to track our laps on a 100 space board. Works perfectly up to scores of 699 points, then you have to roll back to the one pip face to count 700 and so on.

Do you think of something lise this:

It's in german and I think the latest expansions are missing.

Fritz_Spinne - I need this to be more complicated. Do you have it in Swahili??  :o
Haha, we could try to transliterate it into Kanji if this helps. :D

I want to like Castles of Burgundy, because I love castles. But the video run throughs of it just make it look too complicated and unintuitive for me.

Oddly enough I never looked at any of the videos. I just saw the word "Castles" in the title and had to have it.  :D
