Hi

several changes has been added to dev (mainly based on community bug reports and requests) so time for summer update.

Traditional beta is here, main purpose is testing and updating translations
(can't be used with play server  - it currently can support only one version - but i hope this will be resolved next time

Changes:

preferences dialog to change settings from app
improved TO, CC, GQ, AM images quality
changed meeple selection (eg. princess undeploy, crop circles undeploy etc.) - instead selecting tile feature, meeple itself is highlighted directly
rotate board fixes - don't rotate fairy and dragon (#145), gold counters and little building selection.
rules update - Wagon can not choose which tile to move after completing a feature (#148)
rules update - added and make default HiG fairy scoring option - fairy is placed next to follower instead of on tile (#137)
slightly changed way how are mouseover handled for overlapping feature areas - instead selecting none, a higher one is selected.
fix: custom rule "Tiny city is scored only for 2 points" + unfinished two tile city with cathedral (gives 2pts at end instead of 0)
fix #34, #155: relax legal river checking - now river is almost always legally finished, don't end game in rare case when lake can't fit
fix #135: Gold piece distribution is incorrect
fix #138: undo & magic portal issue
fix #139: abbey at game end
fix #140: AI always use big follower
fix #147: Missing farms on Abbey & Mayor tiles (small farms between crossed cities)
fix #149: little building can be scored multiple times for one feature
fix #150: Wagon can move to a tile occupied by dragon
fix: play again button did't work for loaded games

Jere: i fixed lobby (and game) timeout issue in June (it was independent on client) Do you have still another stability issues?r

Bug report:

Dan hosted a game and chose some expansions in game setup dialog. I tried to set up the timer by enabling the checkbox and then clicked very fast on the down arrow to lower the amount of minutes allowed per turn. In my screen, the number of minutes started to flicker like it got stuck between 16 and 17 (was 20 initially). From that moment, the program was more or less unusable (ie. not responding) and we had to kill it and start over.

a ugly bug occuring which I personally seen just once on my machine - but tried to make blind fix

Works well - AI has stepped up quite a bit, I lose now!

Only minor bug which was present in all versions I know of (so you're probably aware) - computer AI will ALWAYS place an Abbey if they can. So the first time a space is available for one, they'll play it.

Otherwise, all good so far :)

I’ve not seen 3.3.1 yet but I fired up 3.3.0 last night thinking it was the latest version as I was supposed to be playing someone via the online server. It didn’t work though, apparently because my version was out of date, and I was prompted to download 3.3.0 again. Downloading it wasn’t a problem, although I was a bit confused as to why I needed to, but unzipping it was a nightmare and took about 10 times as long as it should have done due to a combination of usually very simple problems (mostly that it was a .7z file which Windows wouldn’t recognise). So anyway, that worked, but I don’t know what version it was. Not seen anything here though...

You should be able to see what version from the Help => About menu item.

The new version won't run on my PC! Windows 7, latest Java.  Brings up the JCloisterZone splash screen for about a second, then just goes away.

btw zip is still available through "other downloads" link

Best would be simple binary exe and deb for unix platforms.

rfielder: log fom console please. I have also win 7 and tried it just now using downloaded file from website.

3.3.0 is almost same but because of improved undo i can't make it compatible.
3.3.1 can undo bridge placements and 3.3.0 can't handle such message (if allowed to play together such operation would cause game crash)
