Recently someone suggested this as a topic idea, so here it is: what does your board game collection look like?
I have only recently started to expand beyond Carcassonne so my collection is still quite small (as is my apartment). But funding 7 Kickstarter projects in the last 2 months should change that soon enough!
My two Carcassonne big boxes are at the bottom, with my remaining boxed games on top.

These needs a serious update, but this was my Carcassonne collection last February:

These needs a serious update
You can start by turning the Tower the right way up! :)
-
Don't get me started - The City box has been annoying me for month and months, the metal clasps are not level on either side, so I cant stand it on it's side!!! >:D >:D >:D
-
Here's mine. Bottom one on the right is a regular chess game with glass pieces. Still need to try out Game of Thrones but it's a task to even read the rules. Such a BIG game! The wooden on top is my Carcassonne-collection.
-
Here is an earlier post with most of my Carcassonne collection. I doubt I could fit in my entire collection on to a decent viewable image. x_x

It is. It's the 2001, original, dutch edition.

Ultimate Stratego looks really interesting. Didn't even know it existed until your picture!
-
Great collection Dirk! Thanks for the photo...
One of the members from my gaming group at work bought Zombicide recently (apparently it's quite expensive) so I'm looking forward to playing that soon.

I have to be honest, we tried the 4 players one time and didn't particularly enjoy it. We play standard stratego mostly.
Great collection Dirk! Thanks for the photo...

Thanks!
Zombicide was actually our first cooperative game. The components are nice and the artwork is cool. We played it a bunch when we first got it, but other games took over. We don't play it enough to justify getting any of the millions of expansions for it.

Here's my most recent shelfie. I think I got one new game since then.

Powergrid is on my wife's list of games to try. We have Encore somewhere, but she hid it because my singing is terrible. :-X

That's not a cobweb attached to your Carcassonne Big Box is it?! :o :o

I like that there's stuff on top of "Can't Stop" :))
-

Ha ha! I don't think so. I think it's a shadow, but it might as well be! My group always wants to play the new stuff. I have a terrible time getting it to the table.

Downsizing? :))

Taking a break from the preparations for the world record attempt in Carcassonne, being a beautiful day and all, I decided to refurnish the office and make room for at least half of the board game boxes that I own into one place. What is not shown are basically more Carcassonne boxes that are still sealed and those that are prepared for the event coming this weekend.
And yes, I did play the Tetris tune at some point!
Also, I found even more LEGO stashed away. Even sealed sets!
Hopefully the original image rotates for you as it did for me, making reading the label of the boxes easier. :D

You can post the same photo in the 'My light sweater collection' thread! :)

Just updated my original post (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=2542.msg36747#msg36747) :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
-
This is my boardgame collection, without carcassonne (except for some empty boxes.)
In the revolver box are all the expansions. The same for Saboteur.
The reason for 2 love letter boxes are to play with more then 4 players.

That's a lot of games! :o
Did you buy Tsuro of the Seas after we played it in London?
This is my boardgame collection, without carcassonne (except for some empty boxes.)
I like your neat and efficient use of storage space, in contrast to Decar's collection! >:D >:D >:D
-
Yes I ordered it and the expansion when we got back!
As for the tidiness of my collection.....it's all in one room. What I'd do for a decent shelf rather than a slim billy :(
-
Here is my collection of boardgames. The Black case with the yellow triangle contains my carcassonne collection.
-
Here is my collection of board games. I needed to reorganize them: before that they were on a different shelf, where I couldn't see all the games at once. Now it's more comfortable to view all collection.
-
Because we don't have a lot of space for games in our house (unless they're kids games, of which we have plenty) I sacrificed half of my wardrobe in order to make somewhere to store my games. The sliding door always gets in the way whenever I want to get games out or take photos (as I've just learnt), so apologies for the poor quality of the photo! But here is my "shelfie":
You'll notice that there isn't much Carc stuff; I could easily have taken up all of this space with Carcassonne games/ expansions/ spin-offs, but since I'm trying to branch out into other games a little, I wanted to use this space mostly for non-Carcassonne games (although it does include My First Carcassonne which I play with my daughter, South Seas which is my favourite and most played spin-off and my new art version of the game [with expansions]).
-
Don't have a camera, plus my collection is spread over different locations, but you can see it all here (http://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/Susumu?own=1&subtype=boardgame&ff=1), although I'm there under a different nick name. :o
-
That's one heck of a wide angle camera Dan!
-
My board game collection is basically just Carcassonne and its spin-offs :green-meeple:

There's some sneaky games hiding at the bottom there though!
-
It's funny to me that you have Munchkin on there. My first game was Carcassonne and my second was Munchkin.

Blokus, really fun game to have in any collection Danisthirty!
-

It has it's weaknesses and it definitely is a niche type of game, not for everyone, but I did/do like it. I realized after amassing a large collection that it was a money pit (not unlike another game we are fond of... ::) ). I got a lot of my collection by repping for the company. SJGames seems to be one of those love or hate companies probably due in large part to Munchkin. The game is that way too.
Now - Scott owns your Munchkin collection
Yes, I sold him my entire base/fantasy set during a large game purge a few years ago. I had several other flavors that I parted with as well and only kept the Pirate version. Last I knew, Scott had not played it yet.
-
Munchkin is a very cool game to play but.... as the rules are a bit blurry....the game gets pretty intense when we play it >:D
-
Updated and reorganised. Colosseum, Camel Up and Lanterns are the games that haven't been played yet. Camel Up was an impulse buy and might have been a mistake. I'm keen to try the other two but Colosseum requires 3+ players and Lanterns seems like it would be best with 3-4, preferably 4.

Carcassonne section, Kids section and all the rest of it

Some cool games there! Do you like El Grande? I know it's over 20 years old now but I haven't played it and I was thinking about getting the Big Box.

Definitely a great game and worth to get the Big Box, but I don't own "modern" worker-place games so I can't compare them to El Grande.
-
The dropping stuff down a tower bit appealed somewhat. I'm not sure I understood the rest of the game. It's sat on my peripheral radar.

We have the BB since couple months now. We won it at a facebookevent. 1 of our favorites to do with the family!

The current state of most (but not all) of my collection while it is waiting to move house!

What kind of game is the Bttf game?

What kind of game is the Bttf game?
It's Back to the Future: An Adventure Through Time (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/184460/back-future-adventure-through-time) (BGG). It was widely criticised but Rahdo did a positive review (below), and I love BTTF, so I got it. I haven't actually played it yet because I haven't had the chance with another BTTF fan. Probably not a great purchase in the end, but I'd still like to play it one day with the right person.

-
And here's a new column. Some of these very recent purchases are still in shrinkwrap to prepare for the move!

Thanks for the information.
Sounds like I would be in for a game, since BTTF is one of my favourite movie series!

Oh me too, usually. But I got some games in the UK about 3 weeks ago, and I knew I was moving this week, so I thought I'd try to be sensible and keep them in shrinkwrap until they get to the new house.
-
Good luck with the big move JB! :) :(y)

Not sure if you're moving into Portugal because of my game collection or if I'm welcoming You because of yours.
Off-Topic: Estoril-Praia is playing tomorrow at 16h00, and we have a new coach, so in theory we will suck less then your first time watching. Just in case you want tickets. :o ;D :P O0

Where's today's shelfie update @jungleboy :D

Nice try :) I think we'll lay low this weekend after a big week of packing/moving.
Where's today's shelfie update @jungleboy :D
The collection has probably been stripped and sold for parts by now. I'll never see it again.
-
That just means you can start again!

I pulled the trigger on a Kallax shelf from IKEA. I'll post a picture when I finally get it done.
-
This is my shelf. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Well I've 11 KS on the way and incredibly one of the very first ones I backed hasn't arrived yet, but the next one is scheduled for March ends only.
I do need another shelf though, maybe I'll try to sell an additional copy of Santorini and a House of Borgia copy that I have laying around to make budget for a 2x4 Kallax and a family plate of meatballs. >:D >:D :P :P
-
...must not buy....Santorini.....have Print and Play Copy.....no need.....must resist....hmmm meat balls :(y) :(y)

Hey, hey, hey, none of that! Especially not if you use the profit for IKEA! >:D

I don't want to put you on a tough spot, but Santorini components have top notch quality.

Must.....resist......temptation......

After a poor loss of Estoril where we could have easily win against a "bigger" team if the Coach had more (meat)balls I needed a good night sleep, especially because in half an hour I'll meet my sister and her new boyfriend for breakfast, so I went to IKEA directlyafter the game to buy a brand new mattress (@Jungleboy they're "giving" 25% discount until March 1st, just saying), and of course I had to buy a new Kallax.
They are still cramped but I really need to avoid the lower tiers since I don't want to risk my kids ravaging the gameboxes as soon as I turn away
-
On a more positive note after my rant against the Portuguese postal system earlier today, here is my updated shelfie. The shelves came today and I just put the games in without too much planning or thought. The levels of the shelves are adjustable so I could rearrange them and have more games sideways to fit more in if need be. Anyway, I think it looks pretty good :)

Aaaand ... redesigned already, using the depth of the shelves to more advantage.
And an interesting side note: these shelves were custom built and the depth was measured so it would hold the Basically Wooden Carcassonne big boxes.

But games can be transported to ANOTHER shelf prior to that one filling up :(y) :(y)

If you run out of space and want more games you could always just set fire to Medici? O:-)

Brilliant collection and pictures!

And respect for going for colored Billy instead of the white standard ones.

You should see my lounge - Oak Billys are everywhere :D

More <3 for IKEA furniture here...
Now that I finally have somewhere to display them, this 5 x 5 Kallax is ideal for my boardgames!

Turns out that Carcassonne games account for exactly half of my boardgame collection, and there are still a few cubes left at the bottom to extend into :)
-
A great collection Dan! And Very well organised. I'm very jealous! I hope you can maintain it - it's good to see you have room to expand too :)

Another way Dan could expand his collection is to not have two copies of everything Carcassonne. >:D

My updated, streamlined shelf: these are the games that made the cut. Limes and Dragon Dodge are downstairs because they were recently played. There are a few small games in one of the empty game boxes (Battle Line, Avignon and a couple of others). And I have a few others in a cupboard that I’d like to sell or otherwise recycle.

First shelfie (without empty boxes and my big bags of carcassonne's tiles) :black1-meeple:
Waiting about 30 KS games to complete it :)
-
It does my heart good to see all that classic Parker stuff still getting some love on a game shelf, rather than buried under nine copies of Cranium in a thrift shop.
-
Great photo Dragonlord - a very concise and tidy collection
