Carcassonne Mastermind Tournament
« on: September 13, 2015, 01:46:12 AM »
I decided to organize a tournament Mastermind knockout to 8 players.
The first eight people who will say you want to participate, will clash in a series of games of two people to find out who is the best.
The rules are the same as this topic apart from a few minor differences:

Attached to the match post will insert a password protected zip archive, containing a sequence of four tiles in the basic game, they will be positioned according to the normal rules of placement. Road against roads, city against city, fields against fields.

A player will be able to post his prediction to be made alternately with his challenger, trying to guess the exact order of the tiles and their correct orientation.
All posts will be edited by a moderator.  The edit will add colored meeple under the prediction, they will be the tips to figure out the exact sequence.
Each tile can be used only once.
Each meeple is a clue, the meeple corresponds to one tile and the color will indicate what is correct and what is incorrect.
The order of the meeple do not correlate with the order of the tiles!
Thus, The first clue can be referred to any one of the 4 tiles. The same for the remaining three clues.

:red-meeple:: One of the Tiles is wrong.
:blue-meeple:: One of the Tiles is correct, but is oriented and positioned incorrectly.
:black1-meeple:: One of the Tiles is correct exact, oriented correctly, but in the wrong position.
:yellow-meeple:: One of the Tiles is correct, oriented incorrectly, but in the correct position.
:green-meeple:: One of the Tile correct, oriented in an exact manner, in exact position.

You can use the images on this link or this to make your predictions, using this code: [ img ]image link[ /img] (remove the spaces before img and /img).

A knight is sworn to valour.
His heart knows only virtue.
His blade defends the helpless.
His might upholds the weak.
His word speaks only truth.
His wrath undoes the wicked.

Hi quevy.
only to make no mistakes - the tiles of the base game - there are 24 different tiles in the base game - see the picture (tile list from HiG)
---------------------------------
some thoughts about some tiles - only examples:

the tile "U" in the tile list from HiG - has it really 4 directions?
is it really important how the bushes and the small house is orientated?
in a real Carcassonne game it is only important - two directions (road: from the top to the button - or from left to right)

the tile "X" in the tile list from HiG - has it really 4 directions?
is it really important how the small houses are orientated?
in a real Carcassonne game it is only important - one direction - because it is a 4 roads cross.

Also there are more tiles like the cloister tiles (without road) "B" - or some tiles with city segments on it (example tiles "C" "F" "G" "H".

Yes, this is very important, the orientation of the tiles includes small details drawn on them, bushes, houses, towers, pennants.
In the game of Carcassonne orientation of the specular tiles it does not matter.
In "Carcassonne Mastermind" each one of the 24 tiles can be rotated in four directions, and it is important to guess the perfect orientation.

I would love to, if it is not to time consuming. There is a film festival coming up, which I want to attend heavily, so I'm not sure, if I have the time for it this time.

We can play two members against the other two members (team A and B).
There we need someone (danisthirty) who makes the riddle for both teams.
Each team will finish their riddle together - hopefully with not so much guesses...

We modify this competition to a game for 4 people.
I will create two forecasts by this evening.

The two challenges are thus created.

Kettlefish vs Ailurus
Rosco vs Hounk

The two winners will compete in the final game.

Start now challenges for the winner of the first tournament and the second.
Obviously it is following a game to decide which will be the person to get on the third step of the podium.
