Title: Base 2.0 tile reference
Post by: hsiale on January 02, 2018, 02:06:29 PM
I'm going to play in a tournament which uses Base 2.0 (with River 2.0 and Abbott). I only own Base 1.0 and I've heard the tile distribution is different in the new version. Is the list of 2.0 tiles available somewhere?

The distribution is essentially the same, however certain tiles have gardens on them.

Also one of the CFcF tiles has a pennant, while the original copy had 2 with pennants, in some versions.  I believe this was corrected in later prints, but I've not actually checked.

When is your tournament, I'll put together something similar to this:

if I have time.

Thanks for this! :) The tournament is this Saturday.

For a placeholder:

Here are the 8/9 Garden Tiles:

So that's quite easy to remember:
1 of each road without a junction (RrFf and RFrF)
1 for each city tile without a road, except CFcF (and CCCC obviously).
The CcFf with a garden also has a pennant.

And all the River Tiles together:

Good luck in your tournament! Please let us know how you got on afterwards.

Sorry this is a bit late, but hope it's helpful for you:

Good luck tomorrow, hope it goes well!  :(y)

Edit: Regarding the CFcF tiles - if you have dark brown cities it's likely there is only one pennant.  If you have the light brown tiles, it should be corrected.  If you care about the existence of such a pennant, I would check before the game begins.

Hi hsiale,
In Wrocław or in Kraków? :)
My girlfriend and I will play in Wrocław.
Good luck :)

I read that the Japanese Championships now allow players to bring a pen to take notes during the game.  One player made a tick sheet to record tiles.

I thought this is another great way to help learn and count tiles.

I've updated the tile distributions for both art styles.  The pennants are marked with blue check. The start tile is pre-blocked out.

The gardens are marked with red dots.  There is one tile with a garden and pennant, this has a slightly different marking:

I may include better symbols in a couple of hours to make the pennants and gardens clearer. Perhaps Ps and Gs

I do not agree with this thing ... it takes away a good part of the fun

I was quite surprised. But the japanese pride themselves in tile counting anyway.

Regardless, it is their contest for picking who to send to the world championships and those rules wont change.  I still prefer this to having to play 4-player games to qualify....like some counties... ????

I would call it tile noting.

Hello Decar.
I would like to add this information in the Carcopedia. Can I also include in the document the file you made to count the tiles?

If it's helpful for the Carcopedia, you're welcome to use it - I'll post any updates here!

it would be super to have these sheets for each expansion...

I can do most of them - though I always find tile counting more difficult with expansions, because there are so many 1-offs.

Maybe I can look at a way of doing it
