Title: Can't find JCloisterZone.jar file!
Post by: Candida on December 29, 2015, 12:50:36 PM
Hi guys,

I am feeling really stupid now because I just can't find the JCloisterZone.jar file. I downloaded the latest version of the game (JCloisteZone 3.4.2) and I updated to Java 8. I unzipped the file, then unzipped the second file but no .jar file was found.

Please help  :)  Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, Candida!

After you unzipped .zip file, you shouldn't unzip any more files. You probably have unzipped that .jar file. Jar files can be unzipped, but they don't need to be unzipped. So, after you unzipped first time, just run the "JCloisterZone.jar" file. If you don't see an extension ".jar" (because extensions for known file types are hidden by default), try run "JCloisterZone" file - this should be JCloisterZone.jar file.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, so much, MrNumbers!  :(y)

When double-clicking the 2nd zipped file, it was opening automatically winrar. I had to right-click on the file and choose Java to run it.

Happy New Year!

I am glad to help!

Next time you can choose Java as default application for opening .jar files: Right-click - Open with - Choose default program - Java Runtime (and don't forget to click on checkbox "Always use the selected program to open these kind of file").

Happy New Year!

I have that on all my Windows 10 machines.  Not on any running Windows 7, or when they were running Windows 8/8.1.
