This weekend our biggest board games distributor Brain Games is organizing first board game festival in Baltics, called BaltiCon. If you like, you can read about it on the official homepage (http://balticon.info) (information is available also in English). It could be called micro-Spiel :)
Brain Games asked me if I would like to organize some Carcassonne tournament. I agreed, but instead of my usual tournament (with expansions) or simple base game tournament I chose to run the first Carcassonne spin-off tournament. I have 12 spin-offs, so it gives me 12 tables and maximum of 24 participants. Format is similar to my usual tournament (and our World Cup format), with only exception how to calculate tie-breaks in group stage.
Tournament will run this Sunday, 26.11, I will publish some reports and links afterwards :D

I remembered that I owe you the report about my first Carcassonne spin-off tournament.
There were 15 participants, 3 from Estonia, 1 from Germany and others were locals. As expected, I used all expansions at least once, and nobody played the same spin-off twice. A guy from Estonia came 3rd, but the final game was between acting Latvian Carcassonne champion (woman) and never-seen-before guy. They played South Seas with expansion Friday, and guy won by 2 points! Top-8 players received one Carcassonne expansion of their choice (including some Minis, German something, Besiegers etc.), others - Carcassonne Demo as a consolation prize.
Here are the pictures (https://www.facebook.com/pg/Carcassonne-Latvija-328070887327720/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1094261697375298).
Everyone liked the diversity of Carcassonne thematics and even promised to buy the best of them (of their choice).
So, another great tournament under my belt :)

Looks good MrNumbers!
Well done on organizing this!
I like the idea of having a spin-off tournament, and look forward to trying it myself one day :)
Merit for you!
