We got this question last night while playing with the barn and the hill, and other expansions, naturally. We weren't sure whether one can put a barn on a corner that where one of the four tiles features a hill and thus higher than the other three. My friend and I agreed that it's okay to put the barn there, even when it seems like aftermath of a landslide. I didn't get an answer in CAR (maybe there is one, but I simply skipped it.). Do all the four tiles have to be on the same level to build a barn or does it not matter to have a tilted building?

Hi ny1050220,
you played correct with the barn and the hill tile.

No reason not to permit it. It's not excluded in the rules in any case.

I don't see a reason why not to place it but what concerns to me, would the fact that the barn is sitting on a hill be a tie breaker?

That's a really good question. I would assume not though, since the barn is not a "follower" but rather a special figure. From S-CAR 7.3, p. 178 (emphasis mine):
When scoring a feature (city, road, or field) with more than one follower, a follower on a Hill breaks any ties in favor of the owner of that follower.
That's just my guess though!

Correct, Hills only affect Followers.

Thanks to all!
