Hello all,
My girl and I recently started the dominion games.. at first I wasnt really drawn to.the game because in my opinion it looked too much like magic the gathering. Well that changed the moment I started to play it
We got them as a gift. Both intrique and guilds.
Now I want to buy another for her.. but which one is the best to.get? I searched around on the internet and they gave me the suggestion to buy either the normal base game or.the dark ages.
Now I trust you guys and girls better then any other source. Which expansion from all the dominion games should I buy for her as a present?

P.s. do you remember the post where I told you my girlfriend doesnt like boardgames? Well.. she is addicted now and a merciless coldblooded player, I really need to pay attention or she totally wins Carcassonne double the points. Hahaha I like it

Oh this will be fun. I have all of them except Adventures. Here's my order for purchasing:
1. Seaside – Awesome fun with the duration cards and the mechanics are still relatively simple to learn. Hands down my partner's and my favourite expansion.
2. Dominion – More simple cards but most of the basic core cards are here. It's really hard to not own this one.
3. Prosperity – High-valued cards with two new currencies. Quite fun.
4. Hinterlands – Lots of cards and lots of options, although nothing revolutionary.
5. Cornucopia – A half-sized set that has some fun things like Tournament and Prizes.
6. Dark Ages – A more complex expansion with lots of nuances but a definite negative mechanic (not negative as in bad, but as in lots of attacks and things that trash cards).
7. Adventures – I've read all the cards and it seems fun and the Events are a hoot.
8. Alchemy – A difficult to play expansion that only has a few cards that really feel fun to use.

My wife and I are big Dominion fans. In general, I'm pretty much with whaleyland. From my own experience and what I've read/heard, I'd say:
1. Prosperity
2. Seaside
3. Hinterlands
And yes, you probably want to avoid Alchemy.

I went for Prosperity. The idea of a better use to the money i liked the best.
The Seaside is one i think is better after we played more games of dominion to really extent the options.
