WoW!! I love Knizia and the Castle!! Maybe a kind of C2 of the Castle? Hahaha But seems that the colours are better than Carcassonne C2 lol

Based on the responses on BGG it seems like there is no mentioning of the actual word Carcassonne on the box (other than it being mentioned in the facebook post).
So that will be a nice thing to think about:
Will this be something widely adapted in the 'Carcassonne Series', meaning it being an option to select in our forum profile, it being in the CAR/Wikicarpedia/etc, or not?
Main impact will be on all the completionists here (amongst who i count myself), who then might be seeking out this version as well :P
I have the Castle of course (dutch version i believe), but haven't played it much. I've played all the Carcassonne games when i bought them, but after that only play the ones i really like :)

I'm also waiting for some official information to update WikiCarpedia accordingly, if necessary.
HiG is still totally silent being so close to Essen. We'll have to be patient in any case.

It's very disappointing that this reprint doesn't include The Falcons expansion. If they're going to all the trouble of redoing the art and reprinting the game, it really shouldn't be that big of an obstacle to add a few more tiles and frames in. Sure it would bump the cost up another $10 or so, but that's not much in the world of gaming and it would increase the likelihood of current owners buying a copy. That being said, what's the gate meeple for? Is that to track points? I don't remember a gate meeple in the original game.

The game seems completely the same as the original game.
There are small image changes such as:
- Market = Chapel
- Tower = Pigsty
- little well (Fountain) = Scaffold
- Square = Fountain
- 2 keeps = 2 family houses (gate meeple)
The rules and points system remain the same.

In the original we had the Palace for each of the 2 players, so i'm expecting the Gate Meeple to function the same way :)
