Dan's Spare Bits Giveaway 2017

Hello everyone.

I've had a couple of messages recently asking if I'm going to be doing a "Spare Bits Giveaway" this year, so I thought I'd get the ball rolling as I do indeed intend to do one, just hadn't got round to organising anything yet (yes, I'm lazy).

I won't go into any detail just yet, but please see last year's giveaway if you don't know what I'm talking about as the 2017 giveaway will follow the same format. The most important thing to remember though is that this is an opportunity for all active members of Carcassonne Central (those with 20+ posts by the time I post the picture of all available items) to get hold of something that they're missing, because in these cases I'm happy to help as I know my items will be going to good homes where they will be enjoyed and played with. It's NOT an opportunity to get hold of something that you intend to put on eBay and profit from; that's not the point at all and I've taken a very dim view of anyone who has tried to do this in the past.

I will update this thread at some point next week when I've decided what I'm giving away and have had a chance to take a suitable photo of it all. After that, it's over to you to decide what single item you'd like (and which is still available) and to claim it. Until then, have a think about what you'd be willing to give away to someone else in exchange for the item you claim, and let's make a lot of Carcassonne fans very happy in the process!

Merit to you Dan for doing this again. I'm not sure if I'll be able to participate while in Africa but hopefully other people will be able to get some desired items out of it. I hear there might be a Carcassonne for 2 (or five) up for grabs

Following on from 2014, 2015 and 2016 I'm excited to announce that the 2017 giveaway is now live!

Here's what I'm giving away this year (look closely as some items are more obvious than others):

(there are a total of 13 claimable items in the picture)

Everything you see pictured above is free (exclusive of postage) as long as you intend to provide it with a good home and will ensure that it is played with, enjoyed and appreciated. However, there are a few conditions which must be satisfied if you would like to claim one of the pictured items:

1. This giveaway is a gesture of goodwill intended for genuine Carcassonne fans looking to fill gaps and extend their existing collection. If you're hoping to make a profit by getting something for free and then selling it on eBay then this is not for you...

2. You must already be a member of Carcassonne Central with a post count of 20 10 or more at the time of this post in order to be considered eligible to claim an item.

3. You may claim any item in the photo which has not already been claimed by someone else. Claims will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis so don't bother claiming something that has already been claimed.

4. If you wish to claim something you must have something else that you are willing to give away to someone else in return. It doesn't have to be of equal value either in terms of how much it would cost or how rare it is, but you must offer something worth owning in exchange for your item and be prepared to post it to the first person that might claim it (exclusive of postage).

5. You may claim one item only, even if you have more than one item to offer to the community in exchange. Nobody is eligible to claim more than one item.
