I picked up a copy of the new I&C today, and in the box with the normal tiles and meeples, the entire river expansion was bound by a rubber band. This isn’t on the box or manual, so I’m kind of confused. Has anyone else got an expansion in their expansion?

I have found twice a river where non was on the manuel

That’s pretty cool. I’ve bought a fair amount of games and this is the first time I’ve come across this. I feel like a Willy Wonka kid.

Nice! Was this the Z-Man edition?
I have heard a few people mention offhandedly about how the River comes with I & C on various Facebook posts but I was never sure if this was actually something that had happened or whether they'd just got confused. Now I know!

It was the Z-man edition, yeah. It still comes in the Z-man base game, so it being in expansion 1 is a little humorous. But gift horses and mouths, etc.

I thought I heard something about this happening in a Nordic country where the River wasn't included in the base game.
Guess you can have a doubly long river now for your games!

The River is included in the Scandinavian edition of the base game and Inns & Cathedrals. Which is weird but I certainly can't complain.
Both old and new edition.

I ordered I&C and was surprised that loose the sealed box (other tiles were still on cards) were the river tiles.
I had actually ordered just the river tiles on eBay so now have two sets!
(Should I sell the second river or add it to the game play????)
