Carcassonne can be played not only in the train, but also in the plane! This photo was sent to me by one of my recent tournament participant. I had a special consolation prize for participants with zero wins - "Carcassonne demo" set. One of such participants took his demo set in the plane and had some quick games

I continue to organize annual [live] tournaments with expansions and this year it will take part on Sunday, 28.02. The format is pretty much the same, as it was in previous year, with minor changes, such as: 1. Distribution into groups will be based on players' rating, which is earned for participating in previous tournaments. New players will be distributed randomly. 2. As tournament rules state - players will not play the same expansion twice during this tournament. Now they will not play also their last year's played expansions. Udo Schmitz was so kind to send me signed tiles for every participant, and small prizes for first 3 places. These prizes come in addition to common prizes: two expansions of winner's choice and Carcassonne meeple-shaped photo-frame. This year participant amount is limited to 24. For now 19 participants already registered. P.S. Jungleboy, you must book you tickets to Riga now!

Since video games are also games, wanted to ask forum members: what are your favorite video games (of course, if you play them at all).
I will start with myself - I play only on PC (no PS4, Xbox etc.), buy games on Steam, and spend on them the same amount of time as on boardgames. My favorite video games are (not in particular order):

5. Half-Life series

If bazaar tile is drawn in player's builder turn when he placed just purchased bazaar tile, bazaar didn't trigger, but it should.
Added: Also if two bazaar tiles were drawn during one turn (with builder), then only one bazaar auction happens.

I had a test run with MrsNumbers using semi-final expansions and had found a bug with farmers (see screenshot below). I don't have any logical explanation to this.

Recently one nice bar contacted me in order to organize a board game night in their place. They just opened up and wanted to attract more visitors, and I needed a place for my events, what I try to organize monthly. This Sunday Carcassonne game night took place. The personnel was very nice to me, their marketing department chief met me personally and she even played one Carcassonne game, first in her life! Also, she distributed special coupons, that worked only for this game night, with 10% discount for all food in their bar. Also she prepared another nice surprise for my visitors - the winner(s) of this game night receive(s) free cocktail! Together we had 8 games, zone2 also was there and he won 3 of 4 played games (he lost only in South Seas, because he never played it before), accordingly he received this free cocktail. Also I promised a special prize, Carcassonne demo game, for the most active person. You can check out this game night's report on my website. It's in Latvian, but you can just watch some photos We already have a deal for the next game night in the end of September, same place. Hope to see more people coming!

This bug/incorrect rule exists also in current (3.2) version of JCZ.
I must have an opportunity to move the wagon after the turn on any part of the nearby uncompleted feature, JCZ instead offers me to move it only on nearest tile. It isn't important playing only with A&M, but becomes important playing with P&D and Tower.

Some time ago ran onto this game in the Internet (don't own, never played). Just curious, maybe someone have ever played this game? What it looks like? Mechanics is similar to Carcassonne (more like Carcassonne: The Castle), as far as I can understand from the description.

My question can be deducted from the name of the thread:
Can a wagon drive into German Castle after completing a road leading into it? When we played a game with zone2, we assumed that it can, but still official clarification needed.

Yesterday I saw Ticket to Ride 10th Anniversary Edition for the first time in our local distributor's shop and immediately fell in love! Since I don't own only USA map of all Ticket to Ride series (OK, also I miss Marklin and Nordic), I thought it will be good purchase. But the price was too high for me (82,50 EUR). I send it to MrsNumbers just to share a beautiful pictures of this edition. She understood it as a hint for a birthday present and told me I can buy it and she will pay for it. Our local shop has special discount for those who has birthday in that day: you roll the dice and given number gets multiplied by 10, so you can get 10-60% discount. And I rolled 5! So I've got this edition just for 41,25 EUR! It is cheaper than simple USA edition even without 1910 expansion! I am very happy to get it! These carriages are adorable! Definitely must have for all who loves Ticket to Ride series (yes, whaleyland, this is about you ).

I don't own any Apple device, but accidentally ran onto this app in AppStore. Application helps to count remaining tiles, probability to draw particular type of tile or feature and so on. Lite version is limited by base game and 3 expansions: Inns & Cathedrals, King & Robber, Festival. Full version adds Traders & Builders, Princess & Dragon, Tower, Abbey & Mayor, Catapult, GQ11, Cult, Bridges, Castles and Bazaars. Does anyone used it? Is it something valuable?

Found in 3.1.1, but I suppose the same is true for 3.2.
At the end of the game each player has an opportunity to place his Abbey tile, if it wasn't used before. Usually players use this to gain some points.
Bug: for example, Blue player is the first, who can place Abbey tile, but refuses to do so, then Red player has an opportunity to place his. After that game must be finished, but JCZ gives another opportunity to place his Abbey tile to Blue player! The same happens if both players refuse to place Abbey tile: Blue player (in above example) has another try, after both refused to place Abbey tile.
This is wrong behavior and must be fixed.

It's clear that everyone here is a fan of Carcassonne. But I am curious: what is your degree of Carcassonne obsession?  Feel free to post here some interesting life moments when you think of Carcassonne, when it is absolutely not obvious For example, when I hear this nowadays popular song "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars, and in particular "I’m too hot (hot damn), Make a dragon wanna retire man", I am thinking - how you can make Dragon to retire? Will it be a new expansion "The Princess and Bruno Mars"?
