Unavailable expansions
« on: October 25, 2014, 04:20:20 PM »
I was wondering which expansions are currently not available and which ones are unlikely to ever be available again. Of course I am talking official expansions and from any publisher and I am talking about being available at a sensible price.

Should La Porxada be included as well?

La Porxada is still a fan-made expansion - it was never an officially published mini expansion.
You can find it as a free download.

And Rio Grande Cult, Siege and Creativity.
I'd argue this counts. Games Quarterly #11 is also not technically available anymore, though many outlets still have copies. The company went out of business around 2008.

Others to add:
Carcassonne: Wheel of Fortune (stand-alone edition is out of print)
Carcassonne: Special Edition
Carcassonne: 10th Anniversary Edition
Big Box
Big Box 2
Big Box 3
Ark of the Covenant (company out of business)
Hunters & Gatherers: The Scout (or rather King & Scout as a stand-alone)
The River II (as a stand-alone)

Excluding Big Boxes and spin-off games, I'd say that Cult, Siege & Creativity is probably the most difficult expansion to get hold of at the moment. I check eBay every now and again just to see if there are any rare expansions that have slipped under the radars of those who are prepared to spend more money than I am. Cathars and Crop Circles 1 tend to come up at least weekly but sometimes months can go by without seeing any sign of C, S & C.

Is it a 999 Games version or Hans im Glück? And does it include the book?

Can you let us know the next time you see C, S & C? I have the Cult tiles already from King, Count and Consort (though there is a slight difference in the tiles, as I found out yesterday), but I'm definitely interested in the Siege.
