How about live playtesting via webcam stream? They announce a day and time. People from around the world would then visit their site which also has a chat feed during the game.

Can also be those that are registred (on their site) and only a handfull gets picked to participate with the live feed, like a real beta test.
World record holder for a single game of Carcassonne using 10 007 tiles!

I was thinking about an idea that HiG could describe the mechanics of the new rules without showing the artwork, and we could probably find a few loopholes, but considering the problem with the one tile in Sheep & Hills, there is value is proofing the artwork also.

Many games on Kickstarter allow the whole world to proofread the rules and check the artwork before anything goes to print.
