Carcassonne on TableTop
« on: December 10, 2013, 07:47:33 PM »
We are proud to announce that Carcassonne will be featured on Geek & Sundry's TableTop on December 26th!

Millions of tiles have been set, roads have been built, and cities have been stolen; yet each year hundreds of people still discover the wonderful game that is Carcassonne. One tile at a time, Carcassonne has become a classic among board games and continues to bring families and friends together worldwide. With dozens of expansions, related products and goodies, Carcassonne has proved that its following is large and loyal. Once you set your first tile you are hooked, there is no going back. The fact that TableTop has decided to feature the game in one of their episodes shows how it is one of the best of the best that the board game world has to offer.

Rumors say that host Wil Wheaton is unbeatable at Carcassonne... will that be the case? Or will someone come and claim victory at the last second? You will have to watch on December 26th to find out!

To celebrate Carcassonne on TableTop, we have tons of BIG surprises ready for you as of next Monday. Stay tuned to see how we help you celebrate Carcassonne on TableTop December 26th!

4000 Carcassonne tiles on the wall!

To celebrate Carcassonne on TableTop December 26th, we want to share a special video with you.

Sometimes we have some crazy ideas here at Z-Man Games! And very often, we use those crazy ideas to make something really awesome like what you are about to see in this video! We recently had an event at our offices to celebrate Carcassonne where employees, friends, and guest of honor Moritz Brunnhofer, president of Hans im Glueck, were a part of the action! All were invited toast to the success of Carcassonne, to eat a piece of one of the giant chocolate Meeples, but also to contribute to the construction of a gigantic Carcassonne mural. Hundreds of roads, tons of cloisters and over 450 cities were built during that memorable evening.

You can check out all of this and more in this video! This is the biggest Carcassonne mural ever made! Let's get the word out!

I just watched the video. Nicely done!

World record holder for a single game of Carcassonne using 10 007 tiles!

Z-Man Games is running several contests to celebrate Carcassonne on TableTop. Each contest has a fairly short duration (some are already over), so you'll need to watch Facebook to get in on them.

Carcassonne Central is doing our own contest as well. We're giving away our last copy of the Windroses; see the CarcCentral Facebook page for details:
https://www.facebook.com/CarcassonneCentral

By running the contest all the way to the end of the year, I'm hoping to get some exposure in the Youtube comments when the episode is aired on Thursday.

Here is also the direct link to Youtube:

There were a couple of times where I got the impression that Wil was used to playing with the old RGG rules.

There were also a couple of times he gave really bad advice to the new and inexperienced players, imo.  :black-meeple:

>:D - I think Wil liked to win...

some examples for not the best advices to Kumail (green Meeple):
mm:ss
15:42
17:28
I prefer the tile placement to expand the cloister in the front (cloister near by the spring of the river).

25:16 (last tile for Kumail before final scoring)
I prefer to place the tile that he would get a small farm as a farmer (the farm on the right where Mika was sitting)

Yes I agree. It seems like it is one of his favorite games, so he was eager to win

He also failed to score his cloister at the end of the game. :))

And he didn't need to get so upset about his cloister decision before. At the time it was an 8 point cloister that could turn into 9 points. So he didn't miss the big swing of points he thought he did.

I was feeling irritated that he didn't remove the meeples from the table during final scoring. I find it more difficult to keep track of what has been scored the way he does it.

Scott,
your link to table top doesn't work at our front page of CarcC.
When I click at the picture I only get an error message...

His might upholds the weak.
