I mean obviously not Spiel tiles, sadly. I've been meaning to put a order through since November but keep forgetting. I go and try to re do my cart, and it seems Japanese temples are no longer available. Possible they come back, or not at all? I didn't care too much about them since they break the immersion, I mostly wanted the starfish. Makes me wonder if I should not hold off on other expansions like fruit trees / the festival, which I might incase they do another tile promo for free like spiel 17.

Asmodee's take on the Carcassonne app, subtitled Tiles & Tactices has arrived in the playstore and steam today. The app is a modest $1.99usd, with the River expansion having a special launch price of $0.99usd. Abbot expansion is free with signing into an Asmodee account.
Anyone buy it yet?

Recently got Abbey & Mayor, and decided to throw in I&C/T&B/A&M. And oh boy was I overwhelmed. The amount of meeples were insane but no one made use of the wagon or mayor, and only I used the barn and pig. Also the tiles made the game so long, my brothers quite maybe half way through (40mins in). Defiantly going to stick to T&B or A&M with select meeples like builder, big meeple, and the regular ones. Abbot we usually use as a score piece, might keep it in play.
How much expansions do you use in a typical game?

Not quite sure if this belongs in general or variant workshop (though its not being worked on).
We have Star Wars themed Carcassonne, but would you want more? I had a thought of Legend the Zelda themed version. Monostaries could be ranches. Castles could still be castles, or maybe villages. Roads would probably be more dirt themed. If they wanted to get extra fancy, they could have the meeples be shaped like the different races, although it'll be sad to deter from the classic shape.

I remember there was a magazine promo, and quite a few people didn't want the new edition, just wondering if there was any still floating around? Official one cost like $17 w/ shipping and thats a bit much for a single tile. Thanks in advance!

I've had this for a bit, but seeing as I have the new style base game, and I&C is now out in the style, I'm willing to sell the old version. I just can't find how much it cost / is going for. Might be willing to trade if you got any cool accessories or I&C / T&B in the new style.

My brother asked me to buy it to play in his free time when we don't play and he feels like it. I remember hearing it was quite lacking and not that great. Is it any better now?  /  ?

While looking through some Carcassonne games, I saw some roads that went slightly underground and popped up the other side.
1) What are these tiles called if they have a name?
2) How do you get them, can you get them on their own?
3) What do you think about them?
Seems like a nice opportunity to get bigger farms, and they look like a pretty cool addition.

I got this version for Christmas, I did have a choice and I choose this one. I mean why not go for the new one? And I liked art, it had more color and detail. But now I kinda feel like I shot myself in the foot since now I guess all the expansions arn't going to fit right, and it being mixed dosen't look to great.

Small question, I recently got Carcassonne and have been playing it with my brothers. When one of us draws a City tile but don't control a city or a city is not open to occupy, does that mean we have to connect it to someone elses city? Or can you connect by the field side. We just been playing by connecting to someone elses city as it makes sense because city to city connection, just like roads. But I want to make sure.
