La Porxada (give away)
« on: September 06, 2014, 03:38:12 PM »
I had some printed up, and instead of wasting paper, I had extras printed.

I currently have 4 that are very high quality and after trimming, would be ready to affix to a tile.

If you'd like one, I'll mail it to you.

1. La Porxada is still a fan-made expansion.

2. We are not allowed to sell fan-made expansions.

3. You are not the author and also not the graphic artist of this small fan-made expansion.

4. You don't have a license from the publisher HiG.

5. This Workshop is not a marketplace.

I'm in the same boat. Nothing to offer in return, but if you're being generous I'd love one.

There were 4? I would take the last one :)
But let's wait for an answer from joshgambit, what he meant in his post.

You are correct on all counts.  However, I am giving these away.  If that is okay...

No money/goods/services exchanged.  I will mail these out totally and completely free.

My personal take on this thread.

I initially thought that kettlefish's response was a little blunt.

But, on reflection, I appreciate that Carcassonne Central being a fan site and being associated with a commercial product that revolves around copyright and intellectual property (a very tricky area) then this forum must be like Caesar's wife – not only above suspicion but SEEN to be above suspicion.

I suspect that the response was not just aimed at Joshgambit  - “Don't try selling this” but also directed at every other forum member “Whatever you do, don't offer to pay for these items”

If anyone had offered to pay it could possibly raise an issue not only with HiG but any of the other licensees who manufacture the product in various countries.

Kettlefish's response therefore had to be clear and unambiguous that the forum will actively discourage any activity that may infringe upon the rights of the licensees.

But... How about offering to pay for shipping costs?  :)
Or to offer something other than money in return?  :)
That should be OK, right?

Taken into account common internet language, the ... at the very end of the original post (dot dot dot), usually means it's left for mixed interpretations. Sadly this is something that no one teaches you. Added the multilanguage that the internet is today, it's common people will misread things.

Other than that, it's a great offering and I am very greatful to joshgambit that he's willing to share. I would want one of course! But, I can always print them out myself and thus would want others to be able to get these (offered here).

UPDATE: I.e. '...' can mean amongst other things 'whatever', 'this is my opinion', 'this is my opinion but I could be wrong but I also doubt I am'.
These are just a few examples, and a reason why one should not use it.  O:-)

You are right.. :) Normally the three dots at the end of a sentence means something suspicious I guess.. ::)

But for me it has become a "personal style".. :) Yes, I use dots a lot at the end of my sentences... :D

Nothing fishy in what I'm writing, just me being me.. =^_^=

Hopefully I won't confuse people with my writing.  ^-^

For me it's more like a pause... Like.. A more effective way of having a pause, rather than just the little comma ( , )

It is called an ellipsis and you can read more about it here
