Title: Where to find it...
Post by: danisthirty on June 04, 2015, 11:33:09 PM
It was suggested that we should have a central list of some of the various expansions for Carcassonne and where they can be bought. Anything to prevent eBay sellers making a fortune from the unsuspecting pocket is good news in my book, so here it is! The idea is to keep this list up to date by posting links below so that me or one of the other Admins/ GMs can update this top post to include your link. It will be no single person's job to keep this list current so if you see something then please post below.

I've only included links to Spielbox and Cundco for the time being, just to get the ball rolling, so this can certainly be expanded. However, I haven't included links to any of the major expansions (or even the 2012 minis) as these are generally a lot easier to find and there would be hundreds of links pointing to where they can be bought if we tried to list everywhere. I haven't linked to spin-off games or expansions for spin-off games for the time being either, but these can certainly be included if necessary...

They also have quite a few other Carcassonne expansions in case people would like to package a few together. Here is the link for all of their Carcassonne expansions:

The Phantom still exist in many stores here in Sweden. I don't think it will cost more than 10 Euro for it, incl. shipping if I fetch them all.

I won't make any profit from this. Just happy to help.

Update: These will be with the Scandinavian rules.

I actually bought my phantom expansion off amazon too, but it's been listed as out of stock since I made my purchase

In German speaking countries there is a big department store chain, called Müller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%BCller_%28German_trade_company%29). I've been in a store recently and noticed, that they sell there the "1-6 Minis", so it's possible they have quite a big stock of them left. Unlike CundCo, they sell the Minis as well individually, so this might be of interest for people, who only want one or two.

I might also suggest that people check the store first before posting. Mail them of the actual stock.

About 40% of all the stores I inquiry via phone or e-mail have less or (more often) none in stock.

A good test if not keen on contacting them is typing in 1000 copies and see the cart actually add that many, of an item that clearly is impossible to find that many in one place.

Games Quarterly Magazine Issue 11 (Winter 2006) With Carcassonne Board Game Spring - Mini River Expansion  Price (CAN): $9.95

they have about 10 copies in stock still in the original plastic wrap.

They have a limit of 1 per customer but they said they are prepared to ship internationally.

They are currently stocktaking (that is how they found these ones) so will not be shipping until early July

Loki, you have made a great and rare find! These tiles are quite good, especially the spring with the road (breaking up potential large fields going around the spring). It's just a shame that many of these tiles (except two) can now be found in expansions that were released after this Games Quaterley edition. That being said, this is a must have for the collectors here!

Canada store regarding international shipping:

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING CHARGES:
The minimum order for overseas shipping is $100 before shipping costs are added. A $20 handling fee applies if under this amount. Cost of shipping to destinations outside of the United States and Canada varies.

I presume they mean CAD (Canadian Dollars).

Non-international purchases has a 7 CAD handling fee for orders below 50 CAD.

I expected that this would appeal mainly to people living within driving distance of the store , a $10 dollar 10 year old magazine does get rather expensive when shipping has to be paid for.

There are probably other stores out there with some copies, perhaps members could check out what is available locally and post the info.

Loki, you have made a great and rare find!

To be honest I was more excited to find a (different) local store still had a copy of Abbey and Mayor so I was able to turn my Big Box 5 into a more complete set  - just need another copy of phantoms to round it out

we all have our own individual issues with collecting Carcassonne   :-[ :-[

I like this thread but I don't want it to get spammed with half-baked info so other members have to check them out one by one only to get disappointed.

I do take exception to the term half-baked info,  no one else in this thread has been faulted for not posting international shipping rates.

I did take the trouble to find out that they did have it in stock  and how many copies they had.

I am not responsible for where people live nor do I know how much extra they are willing to pay or not pay.

Thanks for the link loki. Please don’t feel that your efforts are unappreciated here! :(y)

Considering the target audience, I’d say that items seen for sale in local stores are only worth posting about if you’re prepared to act as a “middle-man” on behalf of someone from the forums who may be interested in purchasing, and then sorting out payment and postage between you. Other than this, the chances of pointing out any local store that anyone else on the forums is within a reasonable distance of seem fairly miniscule. This said, I believe Scott and gantry live fairly close to each other by coincidence, although this is largely irrelevant now since neither of them are ever home these days...

Anyway, the fact that the store in question is prepared to post individual items internationally (albeit for a small fee but this is to be expected) makes this worth knowing about in my opinion, so I’ve added it to the list. Well, I haven’t, but I’m about to.

Whether this suggestion was half-baked, fully-baked or even if it had never been anywhere near an oven, I think Paul’s point was also a good one as it would be easy for any good purchasing advice to be lost in a sea of links. Let’s just take it on a case by case basis and add anything that seems useful as we go. :)

I had considered that possibility but Andrew the Ambo seems to have that well in hand from NZ and suggesting it now might have messed up his process.

Even if people don't live anywhere the shop they might have relatives or friends who do and would be prepared to help them out.

I'm sorry if I came across too strong. That was not my intention.

All I am saying is, that if posting here, please post more than just a link. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I would like to see more info for every post here so other members don't have to check every link. It would save a lot of time for those that seeks these items.

A post should consist of the following:

1. The item in question and the link to the store
2. How many in stock, preferrably contacted the store first to get an actual amount in stock
3. Shipping policies, local, domestic and international as well as any fees and if available also shipping costs

One person doing this, saves everyone else the time.

I know there already have been posted links to The Phantom but another one couldn't hurt :P

http://www.sfbok.se/asp/artikel.asp?VolumeID=105350
(The product image is wrong btw, but it is the real thing)

It is from the Swedish store "Science Fiction bokhandeln" which is located in Stockholm (the Swedish capital) and Gothenburg (for those who live nearby or travel to Sweden during vacation). They also offer the option for buying it online and also do international shipping (I don't know the international shipping costs though).

currently it costs 49 SEK, which is roughly 5 euro.
They also have some of the 6 standard mini-expansions for 39 SEK á piece.

The Spielbox magazine that comes with the Plague has now sold out so the link provided is out of date - however, you can still buy the tiles without the magazine for 4 euros (http://www.nostheide.de/webshop3/product_info.php?products_id=418). Postage is 1.80 (Germany), 3.10 (Europe), and 4.10 (rest of the world. Limited to 5 per customer.

I'm new here and was just looking through the list (helpful, thank you!!), and have a couple corrections and one addition:

1. Correction: All the Z-man Games links are now broken (The Festival, The School, Blank Tiles)
2. Addition: I just picked up The Phantoms from boardgameshop.eu (http://www.boardgameshop.eu/carcassonne-uitbreiding-de-volgeling.html) for 4 Euros.

Thanks again for this list.

Corrected. Z-man no longer offers some expansions. In fact, now they offer only first two expansions in new art.

This is pretty interesting when you think about it, and I wonder if Z-man is happy or not about the new direction of the game.

On one hand, just a year or two after they acquired the English-language market publication rights and started printing all expansions in the old artwork, these expansions were made obsolete and their printing of them all just for a brief period seems to have been rather pointless.

On the other hand, perhaps they were aware that the new edition was coming or were even the driving force behind it at the time that they acquired the rights, so they knew they would have something more to sell than just old expansions in old artwork that had originally been released years before.

Don't know why, but suddenly after reading this post I got the song "Another Brick In the Wall" by Pink Floyd in my head: "Hey! Publishers! Leave them tiles alone!"

Cundco has Halflings I (the Spielbox one) for 4.49 Euros right now! (I just ordered Halflings II from them in December -- probably would have gotten this one instead but oh well... maybe another order).

Also, danisthirty, any reason you didn't add Boardgameshop.eu to the list for The Phantom from my previous post?

I was just lazily surfing around and stumbled upon a Danish boardgame site where you can actually choose which colour the box is for The Phantom mini expansion (they are out of blue and green though). As I know some members here want all of them I thought I should post it here for those who are interested :)

The site is: http://se.hyggeonkel.dk/strategispil/
The price is 64SEK (~6€) but I suspect that the shipping will also cost a bit.

There is one online shop in Germany that has good Carcassonne collection: http://www.buecher.de.
The most thing I like in this shop is fixed delivery fee: free shipping to Germany, 3.95 EUR to Austria, 6.95 EUR to other EU counties (Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary and Cyprus).

EDIT: enter "Carcassonne spiel" in the search window to limit search results just for Carcassonne board game.

Found a person with 2 Kathars on the german Ebay small adds

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-bestandsliste.html?userId=25363923&pageNum=1&sortingField=SORTING_DATE

I already PM him and he would be willing to let it go for 40 € including shipping ( but that was to germany)

Not a formidable offer but could be useful.

update per today / 25th Apr 2016:

Cult, Siege and Creativity
Status changed to "This item is not on stock and has to be re-ordered."

Dutch/ Belgian Monasteries
Although on English description CundCo say its not available and back in „summer“, nothing mentioned on German description. I would think CundCo just forgot to remove the „n/a“ on English description.
Deutsch (http://cundco.de/mini-erweiterungen/carcassonne/70/carcassonne-de-kloosters?c=14) English (http://cundco.de/en/mini-expansions/carcassonne/70/carcassonne-de-kloosters?c=47)

German Monasteries
It is available again.

Little Buildings
I don’t longer see these on CundCo (still available from Nostheide).

River 1 (plate)
Status changed to "Unfortunately, this product is no longer available"

hi Jungleboy,

Wind Roses (1)
are with North-East-South-West directions.
that's the version from HiG.
available e.g. from Spielematerial (see my previous post / yesterday).

Wind Roses (2)
are with North-South directions only (no East / West).

available from e.g. CundCo and Spielbox (see post 1).

Great, thanks! To be honest I've never played with the version that I have (I received it as a prize) and I'm not really interested in this expansion. But now that I have CCI, it strikes me that Wind Roses 2 is the only expansion in the old art that I don't have (except for Darmstadt, which I pretend doesn't exist). So suddenly I'm a little more interested in Wind Roses 2. Since I don't know if I can trust Cundco to successfully deliver it, I might look it up on Spielbox instead.

Hehe, you may be right in the end. But I suspect not. There are some expansions that I knew I wouldn't really like but got anyway (Wind Roses 2 will be one of them, Catapult is a prime example). I even paid a fair amount for the Tunnels purely for completion when I didn't really like either artwork or mechanics. But Darmstadt (and Japanese temples, for that matter) is in a different category for me. It goes beyond just artwork and/or mechanics, because I believe it is ridiculous that it was ever made because it's not even attempting to stick to a medieval European theme. More on my dissatisfaction with Darmstadt is here (http://www.carcassonnecentral.com/community/index.php?topic=1947.msg26271#msg26271).

It looks a bit dodgy to begin with, but there's also this note on the front page:

We are currently closed due to ingress of water to our premises and have cleared all our stock. If there is something you are after on our website please submit an enquiry and we will endeavour to source from our local suppliers and email you a quote.

So I would say that this is no longer an option for CS&C.

Hello,

I was looking for a while for the Games Quarterly Expansion for an affordable price and i think i have found it.  The game in itself wasn't that expensive but the shipping to Europe was often more expensive then the tiles themselves.
But here's a seller in New Zealand who sells the expansion for 15$ + 5$ shipping costs worldwide (or 15$ shipping costs if you want the magazine with it).

https://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket/product/893285

Good luck!

It is me that is selling them.
I only have 7 I think left, and have sold 3 in the past week. Once this lot goes, that will be it.

I have done some bulk sales in the past, as it seemed like New Zealand was the last country to have them at retail, but the shops would not post overseas.

It is a pity our postage is so expensive, and seems to go up each year. Basically they are going at cost, with a slight margin to cover if I have to send a replacement. The PayPal fees also eat into the margins.

The new ones you mean? A few attempts are documented here on the forum. But it's pretty simple: they're not available yet. I suspect later this year or next they will be...once they are no longer exclusive. This is how the first Russian tiles were distributed.

If someone is still on the search for one of those minis: 4€ / box - the flyers and the robbers (although mage & witch is depicted) still available.  For those who don't understand dutch, i can help translate...
Also still available: the travel edition for 16€.

Today I went to my new FLGS (Lojas Arena in Lisbon) for the first time to check it out and as we have reported elsewhere on the Iberian peninsula, there is still a lot of old artwork stuff available published by Devir (the Spanish and Portuguese publisher of Carcassonne). At this store I saw:

- Big Box 5 (€50)
- Old art expansions: the Tower, Abbey and Mayor, Bridges, Castles and Bazaars, and Hills and Sheep (€16-18 each)
- Minis 1-4 (forgot to check the price but I assume it's about €5-6 per mini)

Big Box 5 is almost at a low enough price for me to consider buying it. I have the WoF start tile from it already, but the River III would be nice and I could use duplicates of the base game, I&C and T&B for my Carcassonne travel box.

Also, a stupid question: when you open a Big Box, are the individual boxes of the expansions inside or is it all just thrown together?

Only noticing the number of tunnels in Switzerland alone, you might be right for that part, Decar.
But according to good old wikipedia, there are no Cathars left in this world.  That's one less than Jungleboy.  No offense to Jungleboy but that's even rarer...  :yellow-meeple:

Willem, thanks for scouring the Web looking for these deals.  Unfortunately a lot of Germans on Ebay, including this guy, want to do a bank transfer instead of Paypal.  I am not sure how to go about doing that so I won't bother.  Good luck to you or anyone who wants to bid on it.

Unfortunately a lot of Germans on Ebay, including this guy, want to do a bank transfer instead of Paypal.  I am not sure how to go about doing that so I won't bother.

This is usually the case, and it can be quite expensive (from the UK at least) to do a direct transfer internationally. My bank charges me around £10 per transaction, hence why I've only ever done this for stuff I was really desperate for.

In many cases, if you ask the seller directly, they might accept payment via PayPal if you point out the extra expense of a direct transfer. This has worked for me with several sales. In some cases they might be unhappy about the PayPal fee, but if you offer to pay that on top of the sale price then you're a few Euros out of pocket but have saved yourself potentially a lot more...

Oeh, that is unfortunate yeah. Ive got a euro bank account so i dont look at the payment options, as i can make bank transfers if they want.
I do think that it's more likely to find stuff like this on the german ebay, thats why i keep searching there. Hopefully some other forum members have luck with these, so my posting them here is not for nothing  :)

It is bad enough that I would have to talk him into international shipping.  Asking him to change his preferred payment method after that unsure of if I would even win is a bridge to far.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I have to say I no longer accept Paypal payments either and only ask for bank transfer or cash with local pick up.

After several times, people claiming they didn't receive the items, even if I could prove with tracking they did receive it and ebay/paypal siding with the buyer, I gave up. If someone doesn't know how to do a bank transfer or if they get charged a fee for that (not all bank transfers have a fee) I'm fine with waiting for the buyer that doesn't mind doing a bank transfer or, if required by his bank, paying a fee.
Title: Re: Where to find it...
Post by: Decar on March 01, 2017, 05:29:34 AM
It's typical for UK Banks to charge a minimum of £10-20 for a bank transfer to a European bank.  HSBC is an exception, they sometimes waive the fee due to rubbish rates, or sometimes charge £3.

£10 per transaction?!  :o That's a shame, UK is still a SEPA country!

True, but they dont use the Iban system that many eu countries use now. So usually both uk and eu (dutch/german banks) charge for it, so making a transfer between them is a pain in the...
Thats why im now transferring money between my accounts via PayPal, that is much cheaper.

I bank with Lloyds and it’s always been at least £10. I don’t know how much of this is a genuine cost and how much is a punishment for doing something so outrageous as transferring my own money overseas, but for small items it can easily become 40 – 50% of the overall cost.

I haven’t bought anything through eBay.de for a while, but if I was looking to buy something from someone who wouldn’t accept PayPal I’d probably try to seek out someone here with a German bank account who could pay them for me, and who would allow me to pay them back via PayPal (as a friend of course, and maybe a few Euros extra for their trouble).

I have just realized that the benefits of SEPA from non Euro countries (like UK) work only for Euro currency payments. This means that if you keep some of the money on your bank account in Euro currency, bank transfers should be less expensive. If you plan to do more transaction with Euro countries you should consider the option of a multicurrency bank account.

I was going through some second hand site today, and found a few things that might be interesting for some:
Mueller special edition complete (https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/carcassonne-mit-2-erweiterungen-set-in-metallbox-wie-neu-/613588931-23-6618)
same, but a bit cheaper on a similar website from Austria (https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/carcassonne-191642048/)
someone with a lot of different bits and expansions for different games (https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/d/verkaufe-einen-teil-meiner-spiele-195399314/)
These will probably all want payment via bank transfer, as usual on these sites. If anyone needs help with that to prevent high transaction costs, Totor66 has offered to help, and I will be happy to help to. Ive got a dutch bank account as well as an english one and PayPal linked with both, so can help out with transfers to Iban bank accounts, like german and austrian ones

A tip for people looking for the Spiel tiles for maybe a good price; they are on sale on the german ebay auction. Prices are low now, but nobody knows what will happen in the last few seconds of course :P
Spiel 14 tile  (http://www.ebay.de/itm/Carcassonne-Mini-Erweiterung-Sonderplattchen-zur-Spielemesse-2014-Promo-/302264316142?hash=item46605b70ee:g:KVQAAOSwc-tY1~q9)

I don't know of anywhere myself, but people will occasionally post here if they find them anywhere and will usually pick them up on your behalf if possible. eBay is another alternative of course, but I wouldn't know how much the minis are going on there for as I've not checked for a while...

Well, I put in a "Best Offer" and then the seller met me about halfway.  So, yes, I did purchase it.  I won't actually believe it though until I am holding it in my hands.  Once I get it, if I get it, I may want to trade for other items I've been trying to acquire…… because, honestly, I never thought I'd have the chance to get a 70pt scoreboard for a less-than-astronomical price.

The GQ11 expansion is for sale on a second hand website in Holland:
https://www.marktplaats.nl/a/hobby-en-vrije-tijd/gezelschapsspellen-bordspellen/m1162017636-carcassonne-uitbreiding-zeldzaam.html?c=8c285449651fa109c354bbabe740c1b&previousPage=lr&pos=6

No bids yet, and bids have to be higher than €5,- so it can be a good find for whoever needs this one. If needed, I can help with translating, and I'm sure there are many other dutch-speakers here that will want to help.

There is a version of CC2 for sale on the German Ebay, in punchsheet:

Might be interesting for someone that wants this rarety in their collection ;)

I believe the punch-sheet version is the one that came in BB4 which included all of the minis. Otherwise these were only available as single tiles, one with each of the numbered minis 1 – 6 released in 2012.

Same with me. I even got a discount after ordering them,so total payment was lower then they first said. Still I have not payed for any transport. I just ordered them, and see what happens. I can keep you updated if you like.

A store in Sweden currently has used but in very good condition of the following items:

King & Scout (near mint) for 80 SEK*: https://alphaspel.se/491-bradspel/78266-carcassonne-king-scout

The Count (near mint) for 80 SEK*: https://alphaspel.se/491-bradspel/78265-carcassonne-the-count

Big Box 3 (near mint, still wrapped, shelf tear) for 550 SEK*: https://alphaspel.se/491-bradspel/78160-carcassonne-big-box

*SEK = Swedish Krona, roughly 10 SEK = 1 Euro.

They ship internationally to many countries and offers tracking for an additional fee. You can read all about it here: https://alphaspel.se/international-orders/

Shipping is not that bad for most countries.

Please can we stop using the 'Where to Find it' thread to post ebay listings after they have completed.  The intention of this thread is to help people find items they are looking for, not show them where they can't get them.

I'm going to be splitting the ebay listings into a separate thread:  "Where you could have found it, but can't now"

sorry about that!

Here is a link to someone that is selling his collection in one go. It looks like the basegame from the 10 year edition and a scoring track from the WoF/BB5.
The expansion listed with a ! are homemade (so the besiegers are not real!)

Those festival tiles look significantly more used than any of the other tiles in the set.  I'd question their authenticity based on the ware, but the photo-quality is poor.

Just wanted to thank everyone for this list.
It greatly helped me with my completionnist addiction !

Sadly, some items are no longer available on cundco &/or spielbox :
Cult Places/ Shrines (5-tile version) (spielbox)
Halflings/ Half and Half (cundco) - managed to buy it there late august
Wind Roses I (cundco) - bought it last august, and got lost in my last moving...

And one is back :
The school

I'll have to track down the precious that everyone seems to miss (Cathars, Tunnel and Plague :p). I've got my eyes on a Jubilee edition at my local store :)

A local game store with a large online presence is closing.

Apparently all their stock has been going on flash sales over the last few weeks.

Bit sad it's closing being sold and relocating.

But there's a copy of carcassonne castles bridges and bazaars looking for a home.  Old style:

Im glad i could help Weetek23

Still really hoping to find Original Artwork Hills & Sheep, Beseigers and Corn Circles 1 one day, but it's feeling like that might not happen.

great list, for the one you mention, I don't think you'll ever find on some retail shop

it will be second hand or here via some members who decide to downsize.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere that sells these little boxes for mini expansions for a reasonable price? $30 for one box is a bit excessive.

Maybe it's for postage fee. Originally it's selling in UK for 6.49 Pound, which is not expensive

Formerly they were sold directly on Cundo.de.  I checked my order history and the "Faltschachtel-Set für CC-Mini-Erweiterungen" which had 10 small and 5 large boxes was 12.50 Euro, so I agree with you that even 6.49 for a single box (pre-shipping) is quite an increase.

These handy boxes silently dissapeared from Cundco some time ago, unfortunately. I grabbed one last year as a cheap addition to my Advent sale purchase with a foolish notion that they would be available always. Sadly, no more.

Would you by any chance remember what they originally cost on Cundco? I don't really have much reference as to what they were originally worth.  :)

Hi chris6507,

That particular seller on eBay is a profiteer and pirate. Everything from him is exploitatively priced for the uninformed or desperate. If there was a 'Do NOT buy from here' sticky he should feature. I have bought from him in the past before I found this forum and got an idea of reasonable costs, when my enthusiasm was greater than my knowledge.

In stark comparison, the UK retailer 'Boardgame Extras' used to sell them for £1 - £1.25 (they have long been unavailable). Their prices never seem to be much above Cundco retail + fair shipping. I don't know how they make money to be honest, but they are nice and reliable and I support them whenever possible:

https://www.bgextras.co.uk/small-box-for-carcassonne-mini-expansions-i4801.htm

I wouldn't be surprised if the eBay seller didn't buy up all the £1.00 stock to sell it for £6.49. It is why he is the only one left with these boxes.

My advice would be to get busy and make some of the excellent tuckbox designs available in the Workshop. That's more fun anyway and a more space-efficient option as the boxes are sized to their tile counts/ components.

I'm sorry but I disagree; £6.49 for a small, empty foldable box is an outrageous example of profiteering and could never be considered reasonable.

While established forum members are experienced enough to be able to laugh at some of the 'SUPA MEGA RAR' listings, such listings and prices might be taken as legitimate by people new to collecting. I know I paid prices far in excess of what I could have done when I first started out when I was uninformed and excited about this new game and these sets of beautiful tiles.

Some sellers prey on those who don't know better or different. As a responsible community I believe we should try to warn people where possible. Since we have a sticky thread for recommended locations, isn't there also merit in having a thread to warn people about certain sellers?

I tried my best to dig up the original invoice but in vain, it may be that it was actually earlier than last year. I stupidly bought just one box as it added that needed little something to a necessary price to qualify for a Spiel tile, it must have been really cheap. There was a set of boxes at that time as well and I planned to eventually get these which I never did. The quoted offer is at any rate grossly overpriced, I fully agree with unclewill. I also paid at several occasions much more than I would have paid if I knew what relevant prices may have been but I agree that home-made tuckboxes are a better option than supporting such vultures.

I found that I bought a set of the 6 small boxes from cundco in August 2017, for €5,49, and a set of 6 big ones in October 2017 for €7,20

Thanks for the advice everyone. The boxes would have been great to have for some of the old expansions i've managed to track down. But no way am I going to feed the scalpers. Maybe once Christmas and everything is over I can look into making some of the custom ones as suggested. If anyone has any highly suggested custom boxes they'd like to recommend i'd love to hear it. Thanks.

you have a bunch of decen ones here on workshop, otherwise on BGG there are a bunch also (the ones from Tom's are really cool for CI)

I made some basic ones for CII but I wouold have to update the missing ones, but I didn't even unpack the stuff I bought from Cundco since 2 years ...

It's been really good to see how others have been sharing links to various Carcassonne items/ finds via this thread. It's heartening to be reminded that we are a community that chooses to help each other out by posting links directly rather than attempting to profiteer through it by buying everything up for ourselves and selling them on at inflated prices. Long may it continue! :(y)

Yes it helped me too when I started in 2014 and it's very nice to know who is still selling what and not having to search the web for 6 months

I also do the same for another tiny hobby of mine that is Amiibo and share link on Reddit when some old one are produced again, but here I just limit myself to buy the cheap ones so my collection is very small :)

One thing though to precise about high selling prices. I believe we are a lot of people here who buy regularly on cundco (3 - 4 times a year) and who always grab an extra copy of some expansion. I certainly do so and therefore have a nice amount of surplus tiles/expansions

Those tiles will never see play but at some point I guess I will tell myself: why keeping it forever, it's stupid, I might as well sell it.

And then comes the tricky part: When I will sell it, why would I sell it for far less than resell price ? Would I sell a sealed besiegers or extra Spiel tiles for 5 € to please some fans or should I sell on actual resell price of the moment ?

That time will come for me and for others, please don't judge us too harshly; at least it will be seen here only ;)

This is a good point. I'm the same in that I will almost always buy more than one of something so that I have a spare. I don't even really think about it at the time; it just seems like a no-brainer. Then I've come to the point that I've had to make a decision about it, and in the past I've sold certain items that I didn't need or want, via eBay or whatever, but it's always been such a hassle and the amount of money I actually get seems to be far less than I was expecting once postage and eBay and PayPal fees have been taken out.

Instead, I've found it far more useful keeping spare bits for swaps, or trades, or simply to give away to someone who really needs something that I have and don't want/ need. I always loved doing my "Spare Bits Giveaways" in the past as it's very rewarding to see stuff going to a good home, and making new friends among my fellow forum members. It's certainly worth more, to me, than the little bit of extra spending money that they might bring anyway.

Yes by the time, you've considered the initial costs of the item and postage, and inflation, and the service you've provided keeping in safely stored somewhere for about 5-10 years, at a reasonable temperature, humidity and away from insects; outlasting all those other people who simply sold their copy for a 25p profit.  Then also consider the Paypal fees, any currency conversion fees, and the fact that every 1 in 4 goes missing, or is damaged in transit (or storage). I think that free tile that was only available for a couple of days 6 years ago and not available anywhere else; before even considering any personal other context.  Perhaps the poor person took out a loan in order to attend Essen back in 2015, back then, those tiles were coming out every year, and it was likely that they were going to be available again, so they probably only got 1 or 2. Perhaps they've recently lost their job and they're selling their rarest items in order to buy Christmas presents for their estranged children, or worse, maybe a flight to Turkey, so that he could be with them for 15 minutes on Christmas Sunday, all because their partner took them there to escape the board gaming addition.  Perhaps selling that tile is really a painful blessing for them.  Perhaps they need to pay for gallbladder surgery, or dental work which is very expensive in these covid times.  Perhaps they'll take a lower offer if you ask them.

All together, 120€ seems almost reasonable. At least they're not fakes.

Like Dan says, you have to find and assign the real value of what you have; and ultimately that's a personal endeavor. I think it's pretty awesome seeing stuff go to a good home; I really do need to go through all my cupboards.

Meeplesource are resuming shipping to the UK again after 2 years.

They won’t be collecting VAT though so beware of getting too carried away!

Just a quick word of warning there.

https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

Quote
VAT is charged on all goods (except for gifts worth £39 or less) sent from:
 - outside the UK to Great Britain
 - outside the UK and the EU to Northern Ireland
VAT is not charged on goods that are gifts worth £39 or less.

You pay VAT when you buy the goods or to the delivery company before you receive them.

If MeepleSource aren't collecting the VAT, it may be that you're stung with a VAT charge when it arrives at customs; and there are likely the dreaded administration fees around that.

Customs Duty is paid for good over £135
