Just announced:
https://twitter.com/carcassonneapp/status/590212782521454592
What we know at the monent is that it will be fully compatible with Carcassonne on iOS and will be released late this year.

I'm excited! The android app doesn't have Princess & Dragon, Phantom, or Winter Edition so I'm hoping that the mac store app will have those :)

Great news!

I wonder if this will let you start a game on Mac or iOS and then finish it on the other later. This could possibly be done via the new handoff feature in iOS 8 or via some other means. Either way though, (I don't own any Mac but...) I can't imagine how GOOD this will look on any of the retina enabled Mac devices (The new iMac or the Macbook Pro). I mean I know how good it looks on my retina iPad so I'm sure it will look amazing on a retina enabled Mac.

I can already start a game on my iPhone and finish it on my iPad and they said: "it will use the same sync we currently use for iPad to iPhone syncing". So definitely yes, it will be possible.

This is cool but I will always choose to play board games on my iPad over my Macbook.

Here's the application form for the Beta test:

If you own a Mac, go for it!

...I signed up as well.
Thanks Jéré

I got an email from them today with the link to download the beta version. I haven't played a game yet.
-
I had a quick one at lunch time (on the work mac ;) ).
It wasn't great; keyboard shotcuts are sub optimal. The game slowed down when it scored. Will try again tonight. I've not upgraded to latest OSX version yet.
-
I upgraded and then went back to Yosemite because wifi kept dropping in and out.
-
I'd try later tonight....if i'd remembered to bring the mac home :(
-
I got the beta confirmation and downloaded it today.
Played one game and while the graphics look fine, the play has been slow and clunky. The biggest visual problem so far, besides the speed there, is a problem with the zoom in out when placing a meeple on a feature. It doesn't always zoom itself back out.
Anyway I submitted what I saw on the first try.

Guys, are you sure you're allowed to publicly discuss issues you found in the beta version? You didn't have to accept a legal notice before joining? Just want to make sure you don't put yourself in trouble.
-
I don't recall having to accept any terms and conditions and received no legal notice. There are none on that page; and none in the email. I assume this is quite a large public beta as they didnt seem to care too much.

Alright. That's also possible. :(y)

Should have said, thanks for the concern though. Maybe I just like trouble ;)
-
How long did it take for your registration to be accepted and receive the email?
I am very eager to test this out. I emailed the developers at the beginning of the year to ask whether they would consider making a Carcassonne App for mac and they gave me a hint that it would happen... I was just thinking about it the other day and bam I see this thread! :D

Think I clicked the link on the 6th Oct - got email on the 14th ; so about a week assuming it's not down in rounds of people.

I'm very eager!
