Don't get too excited, this is only a suggestion, but do get excited because it's a great idea! I was thinking the other day how great it would be to be able to play through Whaley's campaigns with JCloisterZone. I recognize that this would require some extra programing, but I think it would be well worth while in the end. I believe I speak for the Carc-deprived and disenfranchised masses everywhere when I invoke those most revered words of Captain Jean-Luc Piccard. "Make it so." ...please? ;D

I agree that it would be super cool to be able to play whaleyland's campaigns on JCZ, but I think it would be virtually impossible to achieve, if for no other reason than the fact that Catapult is included in the campaigns and I don't think this expansion can be truly implemented in an online game.

I've been thinking about that, actually. Would there be any way to convert the Catapult toss into a programmed die-roll mechanic of some sort. The player could point to an area that they are aiming for (a tile or meeple or something) and that target could have a programmed range set around it (invisible but there). Then when the Catapult is launched, a background die is rolled and the result translates into how close to the target it gets. It could be a D6, D12, or D-whatever die, but something that would somewhat simulate aiming for a target, while also simulating the sheer inaccuracy of the Catapult.
Alternatively, there could be one of those circulating "accuracy" bars at the bottom of the screen and the goal is to try to stop the bar at 100%. The token then is "flipped" to whatever percentage was achieved.
Just some ideas. Perhaps that's way too much programming for Catapult. I can't say from my own knowledge.

You could just play with the Catapult tiles as is already the case. There is not too much riding on actually using the catapults.

That's an option, too.

I just saw this post again. Here's an idea: the player can select their option and then "flick" the Catapult by tapping a box. Then the chit lands someplace random on the board. Absolutely random. I'd say that would justly depict most people's experience with the Catapult. Obviously "Catch" would have to be ignored in this implementation, but who really plays with that option anyway (and why did I bring the ruler with me to New Zealand?!).

Maybe they can try and hit the tile like those arcade games where you have to build a tower, but the target/cursor moves faster and faster.
