Title: Ordering Russian Carcassonne Tiles
Post by: Decar on April 01, 2015, 07:06:15 AM
I've had many people ask me how to get hold of The Russian Carcassonne Tiles:

(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/15/bd167daf668a294773f9e4247eceeacf.jpg)(http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/02/15/f6824a81d279b9a435ddf388ba150251.jpg)

Given the very expensive postage (and VAT charges), it's definitely cheaper to consolidate orders.

I may be ordering again soon so:

If you're interested - please let me know plus which Country you're from and I'll investigate how much it will all cost; or what the cheapest approach will be.

You may also want to consider:  Russian versions of: Hunters & Gatherers, The Castle and Wheel of Fortune.

Interested Parties:

Decar - WoF - UK
Guy - Carcassone City- UK
Ratz65 - Carcassonne City - Germany

----

SRBO- Carcassonne City -Netherlands
Khonnor - Carcassonne City - Netherlands

I would like a copy, depending on the price to the UK.

Currently Russian Count Costs ~ £15 per box.  When I checked it cost £37 (+ possible VAT) to deliver one box to the UK.
When I ordered 3, Postage + VAT came to £18 per box.
Postage inside the UK + £3 per box.

So my last order came to £36 per box.     :o

Hopefully people on this thread will group together to reduce their costs.  :(y) :(y)

Boxes contain:

18 Tiles for The Tower + the tower
30 Tiles for Princess and Dragon
1 City of Carcassonne Tile
12 The River 1 Tiles
5 Shine Tiles
6 Crop Circle 1 Tiles
----
Total: 72 tiles.

I've just had a look on ozon.ru - Russia's answer to Amazon. They're selling this box for £25.30 inc postage to the UK. They also have copies of:

The Castle
Winter Edition
Kids of Carc 2nd ed
Hunter & Gatherer 2nd ed
The Discovery
King's Gift - which looks like a big box containing base game, I&C, T&B, A&M and K&S

I'm not sure if or how these vary from the euro editions though.

Has anyone had any experience with ozon before?

Not used them before - Looks like you can get The Count/Tower for £30 delivered (+ VAT); so seems to come to about the same.

What does the inlay of the box look like?

Thanks for the offer, Decar - merit for you.

I'm going to check out ozon though, I think. The total for the count/tower box came to £26.18 for me; inc VAT, postage and any paypal costs. I'll let you guys know when the game arrives and if I have any trouble with them.

No worries Jim - goodluck, it's always good knowing about other services. BTW: You might find you pay VAT when the item arrives in the UK - Parcelforce (EMS) slap on £15 handling fee, (Royal Mail usually £8).

SRBO: I've taken some more photos; the inlay is not that exciting:

Decar,

Put me down for one copy please. It's sad that it's mostly for the single tile city! Postage is to the UK so that works out with any other uk orders.

thanks decar:)
Does that mean you're out SRBO? - don't want to miss anyone off the list ;)

The way I look at it -  if I order WoF too I've got enough K backed tiles and with the Tile Dispenser coming from Basically Wooden, there's no sneak peaking ;)

Hi Decar, maybe you could post the site where you order these from, if anyone wants to order directly from them?

I am really interested in this, but main reason is the Big Count Tile. So paying anything more than 20-25 euro is my maximum (inc. shipping).

Did anyone (Kettlefish?) ever contact HiG to tell them of this version of the tile and if they'll ever release it as well as special promo or something?

I ordered straight from the publisher - HobbyWorld.  If my calculations are correct if we ordered 6 they're come in at around £27 per box + extra postage.

If there are several people in the same country it obviously makes sense to order at the same time  :(y)

I'll add you both to a different list.

If you are refering to the tile holder as "another tower" I do have one to give away.

My only defence is you took such a good photo,  no other would ever be required.   Plus I referenced your image directly rather than copy it :P

No worries. I don't mind at all.

On a side note, just make sure everybody understands that the quality of the tiles are a bit different than the "western" publishers, just to avoid dissappointment.  Colour, thickness and size differ so nobody should have high expectations. However, it was not a problem for me at all. Especially the 12-in-1 Count tile, I think it is perfectly fine.  So far, I played 2 games with The Tower and another one with P&D, and I was not annoyed by these small differences.

Yes that's true - hopefully you can see from my 'legitimate' photo that the game tiles are a slightly different shape.
The edges are move beveled.  Hence while I'm considering getting a WoF too for a Base Game. :(y)

The Russian finish is different, generally greens are greener too, which is difficult to capture in a photo. The tile surfaces are smoother, which I think helps the artwork; but I'm not sure the cardboard is so dense.

Just had a thought - has anyone contacted the Russian publisher directly to see if they will send out a load of one piece city tiles?

My ozon parcel came today, so here's a little review for anyone who's interested.

I picked up the Russian expansion box for a total of just over £26 including p&p, paypal charges and everything else. It took 12 days to be sent to the UK; from what I can gather from the shipping details on the package, it was sent from Latvia. The box was in good shape (the inserts are loose inside, and none of the tiles had fallen out) and was sent in a corrugated card wrap-around box similar to Amazon's methods. The website itsself was easy enough to navigate when I set chrome to automatically translate Russian, it had a small verity of carcassonne games, and they accepted paypal.

All in all, very pleased with the order, and I'd be happy to buu from them again.

Formal Response Received this morning:

Sorry, we can't break Nobles&Tower sets by taking out City of Carcassonne tiles.
These tiles are included in the set and we do not sell City of Carcassonne tiles separately.
