Same as Rich, I would be up for it, but already have a Tower game scheduled for Sunday night. I'll see if I can get it re-arranged and will let you know if I'm free. (Yes, that is plagiarism. I copy-and-pasted what Rich put down.)
OK, now something different from Rich. Rich's Tower game has been re-arranged to Saturday. I still need to wait and see if I'm free on Sunday.

No matter what, I'm in. Sunday 7pm UK time suits me. Count me in to further daily tournaments also. Like the competition.  :red-meeple:

Looks like we have rescheduled our game with ny1050220 and I can participate!

P.S. I suppose, this is "I am in" for ny1050220 too :)

Awesome. :(y)

So, unless I'm mistaken we currently have the following players taking part:
  • danisthirty
  • Jéré
  • Rich_The_Fish
  • khalidqasrawi
  • Adrornalin
  • MrNumbers
  • ny1050220
  • Skane
Sub #1: Chuck

Have I missed anyone? If not, we have one space left which will go to the next person who can confirm their availability and willingness to take part. After that, places as substitutes will be offered to anyone else who still wishes to be considered and will be available in the event that someone with a place doesn't show.

I think the number 8 is Chuck. In one of the first posts, he said he is in, depending on his availability. So he should be the first candidate to preserve the last space?! If so, we are ready to go! 8) I hope I am not going home after the very first knockout-stage  ;D

I'd rather opt in as a substitue, since I only can say on short notice, if I'll be free on sunday afternoon.
But thanks for your mentioning!  :(y)

Excellent. I've added you to the list... :(y)

Anyone else who still wishes to take part can put their name down as a sub and turn up on Sunday to see if there are any drop-outs.

See you on Sunday guys!

Hey guys,
I hope everyone is going to show up, as I can't step in as a substitute.
My in-laws invited us for dinner, so I cant't take my laptop with me and start playing.... ;-D

I'm pleased to say that our first "Tournament in a Day" took place this evening and everything seemed to go surprisingly well! :)

All 8 of us met in the chat room and everyone was there on time. There was a LIVE! drawing of the fixtures after which we all went into our first games:

Game #1: danisthirty (90) vs ny1050220 (79)
Game #2: khalidq (94) vs Rich_The_Fish (88)
Game #3: Jere (89) vs Skane (79)
Game #4: MrNumbers (99) vs Adrornalin (81)

The winners of Games #1 and #2 (khalidq and I) met in Game #5 and the winners of Games #3 and #4 met in Game #6:

Game #5: khalidq (67) vs danisthirty (57)
Game #6: MrNumbers (110) vs Jere (96)

Meanwhile, the losers of Games #1 - #4 (apart from Adrornalin who went to bed with a hangover but was replaced by Leven who also happened to be in the chat room) got together for a 4-player game.

So, the final was between khalidq and MrNumbers, with a play-off for 3rd/ 4th taking place between Jere and I. Here are the final positions:

#1 - khalidq 8)#2 - MrNumbers :D#3 - Jere :)#4 - danisthirty ::)

Huge congratulations to khalidq on his impressive victories! And thanks to everyone who took part for arriving on time and making it such a fun evening. Hopefully we'll be able to repeat this success again in August so watch this space! C:-) :(y)

PS - final scores in Games #7 and #8 were: khalidq (97) vs MrNumbers (81) & Jere (100) vs danisthirty (55) :o

Great success! Everybody was on time and keen to play. :)

...and congrats Master Khalid (y)

Can we consider this Monthly Tournament an official competition? I mean I could calculate Elo ratings for this after the current league.
