Title: Dimension des tuiles
Post by: oldbonz on October 13, 2019, 05:40:51 AM
Hello to all of you
Does anyone know why the tiles measure 45x45mm?

I couldn't find anything related to your question but the 35 x 35 mm tiles in the Demo Spiel or Carcassonne for Two, for example, make me think the tile size is an arbitrary decision that is also linked to the size of the meeples.

My intuition tells me that, in the end, it may be related to the trade-off between production cost per unit vs. perceived value and therefore a "reasonable" sale price according to the latter. You can also see this reflected in the size of the boxes vs. their actual content... specially with Big Boxes.

Hello Meepledrone
I asked this question because while tidying up I found an old box of wooden blocks from the 1940s and 1950s that can be used to build a castle, the size of the cubes is 45x45x45?
I deduce that this rating has been used for a long time in games
