Hi Adrian Sutton,
Carcassonne the card game is not the real name ::) The name you're looking for is Cardcassonne.
you can find it on bgg for instant (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/58798/cardcassonne)

While Sinscerly is right by all means, I just want to comment that the game is also called The Carcassonne Card Game. To me, it's not terribly wrong to call it Carcassonne the card game. :P

;D >:( ;D yeah it sounds better then Cardcassonne. I agree with that but not really findable under your name :'(
I have the Dutch version. But never played. It sounded very easy and every turn you have to place one card if I remember it correct.

Well, "The Carcassonne Card Game" is its subtitle or tagline. As we've already seen, using that can make it hard for somebody to find the game in certain searches, and taglines often change from edition to edition and language to language. Sure, they are also usually printed on the box cover, but nobody says "Hey gang, who wants to play Parker Brothers' Real Estate Trading Game?
On the other hand, Cardcassonne is a really dumb-sounding name, so I can't blame anyone for not wanting to say it out loud. ;)
