This poll has only been running a couple of hours and it's yielded some interesting results.  The yellow-field scoring track has taken a significant lead already, with twice the number of votes. I suspect this is because it is the most common and people are familiar with it. Technically I think listing all the numbers is very important too!

I was surprised to find the magnetic scoring track doing so well too, but as JT said: it's bump proof!
It's interesting to see the Wheeol of Fortune doing so well too.

These three designs are all very similar so the lead is strong, but there's still time for that to change!

No one has voted for a first edition or 10year special edition yet either.  The meeple shaped scoring track does have one advantage: it doesn't snake, so it's easy to know which direction you're ment to be going in!

It's great hearing about other people's non-official scoring mechanisms too, I'm not sure I'll be using a talley marker next time I complete a 34point city though!

What would be a recommended scoring track when using The Bandits and / or The Messenger mini expansions? Haven't thought much about it as we don't use these features save the tiles themselves as regular tiles.

Truly one of my next projects is just that, I want to do some magnets in the shape of the bandit and messenger and the meeple lodestone wood, but for now I am very busy with falconer.

One more quick solution would be to glue the magnets behind the wooden figures.

I admire anyone able to do this. I got hundreds of meeples but could never glue or alter anything from the original content. :)
World record holder for a single game of Carcassonne using 10 007 tiles!

I never talked about doing this on the originals, they would be too thick compared to others. I would will clip some wooden figures laser.

I am surprised that no - one has mentioned the fact which bothers me about the score board which is that it cannot be incorporated into the map!  Why is it such a random size?  Why has it not been redesigned so that the size of the board corresponds to the tile size and with cities and roads on the sides?  That would get my vote!
Just lay the damn tile!

Great Comment Rosco,  There are a few non-official scoring tracks that allow you to do this.  I went through several iterations, but wasn't happy with the result.  The problem, I was finding is that large starting tile, kills the start-game; especially in 2-players, in the same way Wheel of Fortune and The City of Carcassonne does.

I think a small 2x3 might work well, but it's hard to fit a score track up to 49; so you'll have to change the mechanism: eg use circles, spirals or dice.

I think we have not forgotten another important original element.
Bag Travel Edition can be used as markers, same thing for the bag containing the Russian special tiles.

Updated as a single vote.  I doubt there will be enough votes to distinguish between the Travel Edition (which has mini tiles) and the Russian Version.

I've voted the field option because of how it came with my BB and it's just really nice and simple!

In terms of scoring, my wife and I use the wooden score tokens from Basically Wooden. They are very nice and can fit the shape of a meeple on!

FAVOURITISM POLLS! How exciting.

I use the field edition scoring track. I only own this and the Wheel of Fortune version, but I'm not a huge fan of the crown mark. I like the look of the grey stone version, and I wouldn't mind getting hold of it. But the lack of numbers isn't ideal. The Carcassonne II version looks very good, nice and clear.

My favourite is the Winter Edition scoreboard. I love the colours and artwork on the this version. However, I wouldn't use it with the regular game, only the winter version, so I don't get to use it that often.

For scoring, I just use scoring tiles and the regular board. I have enough score tiles that this works. If I ran out... well, I suppose I'd improvise!

Look to the north. Keep looking. There's nothing coming from the south.

Good to have you aboard Christopher!

I guess the Carcassonne 2.0 scoring track may be another good reason to fight your internal demons and purchase a copy of the base game!

Looks like someone has voted for another official, but unlisted scoring track without sharing which one it was?!

I've added the magnetic and portable tracks to the poll.

I thought, I'd add some honourable mentions to the 'unofficial' listings.

First up is a 100 point score track, I found on google images - I'm not precisely sure who to thank for this.

Second up is Quevy's infamous 999 point score track.  :(y) :(y) :(y)
