Hi all.

I apologise for the long gap.  I have been very much caught up with lots of different things - lots of run training, work, family, Big 4 at 40 logistics, DIY and more recently BGA Carcassonne arena (this is the least necessary but most fun).

I will now put up for auction a Doris Matthaus original art piece.  I will add a new photo shortly.

Unfortunately the high bidder has pulled out therefore I will see if the precious high bidder would like to take the item at his previous bid of £45.

Next item coming soon.

Get bidding guys and share the auction with anyone else you think might be interested - the German forum, BGG, Facebook groups?

The next item in the auction is a very special thing.  The creator of the game we all love kindly donated some original artwork from his design of South Seas.  This is a very limited edition item which you will struggle to find anywhere, worldwide.

I have 2 to auction and this is the first - give this the respect it deserves.

You have 2 weeks from today and I will do my best to keep the high bids updated on here.

Good luck

The next item is a good one.  It will be posted a little later.

Hi All

I feel the time has come to auction some amazing stuff and raffle a couple of them as well.

As a reminder, I am doing an insane running challenge at some point this year but due to COVID19 I currently dont know when i will be starting - the challenge totals 400km, 152 summits, 3.5 times the height of everest in around 100hrs of running!

I am raising money for CALM, The Dogs Trust, and Mountain Rescue and below is the fundraising page.

https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RossJENKIN2

The auction has some truly amazing items which have been donated by various people including, Decar, Danisthirty, myself, Klaus Jurgen Wrede, Doris Matthaus, and Udo Schmittz.

The format is that i will post a couple of items on the list as and when an item sells.  Each auction will last about a week or two and I will sell for whatever the highest bid is - within reason!

In addition to the bid, the postage (including insurance) will be paid - and the total will be paid into the Virgin page above.

The next item to be sold is a signed KJW cup mat and a tea light holder.

Minimum bid is £10

There are also 2 lots, each with a luggage tag and a signed KJW cup mat.

Minimum bid for each is £10

I also have a set of coloured dice to match the meeples which I use for scoring.  So each player places the coloured die on the score track with the single dot facing up.  When they go round once, change it to 2 spots.  This also gives each player an extra meeple on the board.

The most important house rule for me is with Towers.  I hate the fact that when you place a tower beside a tile with a meeple on it that you can add a tower piece and immediately take the meeple.  This leaves no opportunity to save the meeple by topping the tower or finishing the feature, or in fact placing a tower piece somewhere else on the board in a position to take a meeple on your next go (thereby giving the opposition a decision to either take mine or save his own).  Therefore we play that the first tower is a base (I.e. can only remove a meeple from its own tile) then 2 tower pieces is the tile beside and so on.

Have I explained this ok?

Regarding to the crop circles:

Each must decide between option a and b.
A) they can place a meeple from their supply to an already placed meeple and nowhere else
Or
B) remove a meeple

So from my point of view the translation make Sense, but I’m not a native speaker and understand sometimes not the nuances

It is a tiny change but what HiG did in the English rules was this:

Each must decide between option a and b.
A) they can place a meeple from their supply to an already placed meeple and nowhere else
Or
B) remove a meeple

So the can (or may) par of option A) was removed so they told players: you must add a meeple or remove a meeple. This was in contrast with the German rules: you may add meeple or you must remove a meeple.
That doesn't seem to make sense to me.

The point of the expansion was surely that it was a little bitter sweet. Sometimes you could win a feature with an extra meeple and sometimes you could rescue a meeple from a dead feature BUT if these positives were not possible you would have to waste a meeple by adding one to a feature pointlessly or remove a meeple from a good feature you were likely to score.  Therefore the rule only really make sense if it is "must A or B."
