Title: Kingdom Builder
Post by: Lord_Wishmaster on August 18, 2013, 08:23:55 AM
Any Kingdom Builder fans here? I would hope so, after all, they may be a bit bigger but it uses a tile system for it's boards!!  ;D

I have the main game, Nomads expansion plus the two mini expansions of Capitol and Caves... the lot in fact. Also looking forward to the new Crossroads expansion when they get round to releasing it here in the UK.

It's a very popular game in the Wishmaster household and with my current gaming group.

I love Kingdom Builder, I don't own it yet however =(
I'm awaiting a Big Box for this one.

Another game that I'm really looking forward to playing (it's in the mail at the moment) is Keyflower. Have you tried it?

Kingdom Builder was the winner for the prize "Spiel des Jahres 2012" - last year.

But I don't have it.

I very much enjoy Kingdom Builder. I have everything released for the game. Many in my group find it too "abstract" so I do not play it as often as I would like. Great design.

PS. I am not a big fan of games on a computer or iPad, but the iPad implementation of this is very good and I played it a lot during our recent trip to Europe.

I'm rather hoping something will come along for Android. Why is it that game (& other app) makers feel the need for i-Everything when it only has less than 19% market share of the market and Android has 70%.. as you may guess, I hate Apple!  >:D

Abstract? Yes I sort of see where that may come from, but that's usually just an initial feel. Once you grasp the games mechanics it's a very simple game. Unlike some games, the expansion merely replaces some things instaed of piling in on top of already existing stuff.... hmm, now what game does that!  ;D ;D

I'd love something on the Android, but please let it be better than the Android version of Carcassonne!

I know what you mean. It's not that it's really bad, just a bit of a missed opportunity for something a bit better.

I've played it once and, honestly, wasn't super impressed. That being said, the Kingdom Builder Big Box that is coming out this fall is on my must buy list and it really is the only major purchased planned for me before Black Friday.
