[WTB] Catapult, Festival, Monasteries, Castles (old art)
« on: October 11, 2019, 09:05:05 PM »
Hi team,

I've avoided buying these for various reasons in the past: non-essential; inconsistent; offering little to the overall game. Whatever it was, my crippling completionist compulsion (try say that after a few beers) now tells me to track them down. I believe many of these are now quite hard to acquire, but perhaps not yet in the realm of Die Kornkreise I... Any suggestions here would be great as this community has been really helpful in past acquisitions.

Regards,

Carcassonne: Catapult (2008)
Carcassonne: The Festival (2013)
Carcassonne: German Monasteries (2014)... maybe Dutch Monasteries, too
Carcassonne: Castles in Germany (2015)

Hi blaice,

In Spain you can find odd copies of the Catapult by Devir (rules in Spanish of course). Are you looking for new or second hand copies?

I know it is not the best option when shipping to Australia but who knows.

Cheers!

Hey thanks for the tip. I did see this but was hoping maybe someone had a few to ship together as, yeah, Australia really sucks for post. I'll have another sweep of eBay and any locals.

I think I've got spares for everything, except for the festival. I have a spare for that in the new art, but not old art I think.
DM me if you're interested, we can see if we can ship stuff together.
For the catapult the biggest thing to remember is the size of the wooden catapult; it makes the box required a lot bigger. Additionally it is more likely to be damaged (just keep it in mind)

Hey thanks Meepledrone. I saw this and was hesitant; I don't really like the idea of paying as much for Das Fest as I did for Die Pest! But I guess it won't be getting any cheaper, given it's old art... I've been able to source all the rest on here so I can't be too upset. This community is really helpful, even for someone like me who is barely involved. It's awesome.

I don’t know if they ship outside the US but you can get the Festival in the old art from Asmodee’s US store, https://store.us.asmodee.com/catalogue/carcassonne-mini-expansion-the-festival_1240/

EDIT: They also sell the School and both listings are legit what they say/show they are. Z-Man Games (owned by Asmodee, in the US, at least) used to (still does) sell these on their website but then last week Asmodee created one central, online store for all the various publishers they own. A while back I ordered the Festival via Z-Man Games and got exactly what I was expecting!

Thanks mate, I'll look into it. I might just e-mail them just to confirm (return shipping from Aus is brutal) but yeah it does appear to be 10th Anniversary and shipping to most places. If so, it's saved me about $20!
