Up until 2 or 3 years ago Cundco postage was disproportionately expensive on most international orders, including the UK. There must have been at least half a dozen or so occasions where Decar or someone else has co-ordinated a group buy and then either forwarded things on or waited until a suitable meet up opportunity to give everything out.

I guess that's less likely to work in the US, certainly with regards meeting up in person to hand stuff over. But it's definitely worked here.

I'd happily cut the maps into A4, or fold them, if that helps anyone state side. Although I think you'll be disappointed on receipt, the posters are quite thick plastic, I think folding may simply damage the artwork, or stop it easily folding out.  I have a high quality rotary cutter, but I dont think it was intended to cut plastic and I'd rather not damage the cutter, I could use a smaller one or use a rotary knife though.

If I have time I'll add some closeup photos so you can see the material used.

And what about buying big boards and not cutting? ;)

Because posting a board to the United States would cost even more!

I use a 0,3mm A1 size metharylate sheet to place on the map that I will use as protection. Then I save it all in a A1 size folder for all maps and the metharylate sheet. Althought with the new maps of the US I will have to buy another extra metharylate sheet....

What we need is for someone Europeside to fold the map into a reeeeally good paper airplane and fly it across the Atlantic.  ;D

That is the most sensible comment I've read on this thread. Thank you. I'll get to work right away! :D

How well do the maps stay flat? Do you need to keep the corners weighted?

I hope the maps will be available on the BGG store like the USA maps eventually, or other options. I checked Cundcos shipping for the other 5 and that's one big purchase haha. You think this is a product that need to worry about getting out of stock / print any time soon?

I actually store all of them upright behind a bookshelf and they stay mostly flat. Slight curve on one side, but I just put a mug or something on that corner.

For now it seems that the maps are here to stay. There are quite a few different ones available now, and even some like the Taiwan map popping up.

They are usually rolled up for shipping, so definitely recommend putting some books on the edges to flatten it when you receive them.
I keep my maps in an A1 folder that I got from Amazon. Just a simple, cheap folder helps a lot to store them flat or standing up
