Thanks Mike, I stand 100% corrected!
Not only is 2020 there but 2016, 2018 and 2019 too.

Browsing the list of Carcassonne > Expansions on BGG now, I can't see how I missed them. I am on mobile now though and was on desktop before ... But now I'm grasping at straws. :)

Like many of us (I guess?) I log my board game collection on BoardGameGeek (BGG).

Having placed my order for the Spiele 2020 tile I wanted to note this on my BGG collection. However, the 2020 tile doesn't yet exist on BGG.
In fact, having searched it looks as though only the 2014, 2015 and 2017 Spiele tiles are present on the BGG database.

Is anyone BGGeeky enough and motivated enough to add the missing ones?

 :)

I'm in. Very pleased to add this beautiful tile as the seal on my Carcassonne collection.

Picked up a Tower, my precious new edition labyrinths and a couple of other minis that I don't really need and will probably sell on at cost to cover the delivery.

What do you mean with C2 labyrinths?
I guess C2 Labyrinth expansion
https://cundco.de/mini-erweiterungen/carcassonne/221/carcassonne-das-labyrinth-alte-neue-edition-de/en?c=14
Well, ok! I already own it :-)
Yes that's right. The Labyrinth. I have one but choose only to use the new edition tile (C2) since that matches the rest of my collection. I'd like just two more new edition Labyrinth tiles as I think games with two or three labyrinths would be fun.

I always knew it'd work this way I guess, but a bit frustrated by the €20 minimum order. I really only need a couple of C2 labyrinths ...

Impatient anyone?  >:D
Just a bit!!

This will be the finishing touch to my "a standard base game box with as many expansions squeezed in as possible" collection!

As many others have said, it is beautiful!

If they apply the previous €20 order minimum I may struggle though ...

Also, I take it there is a strict one per customer limit?

I wonder if they'll actually sell them for more than the usual amount (which I think I read was €0.01 with a qualifying order?) simply because, unlike giving them away at Spiele there is no great promotional benefit to putting them in the hands of existing owners/collectors?

Thanks tp10053. I'd forgotten the propensity for mega Carcassonne here! :yellow-meeple: :yellow-meeple:
As you say, as more expansions are added, the presence/absence of the original base game will become increasingly irrelevant statistically.

Likewise some of the major expansions have tiles that are relatively vanilla - I have 1,2,5 & 10 and the first three of those certainly are.

Having initially played with many of my expansions I now tend to make smaller selections - typically base + 1 major + 2 minor - so base, River, I&C, T&B, Festival and Labyrinth would now be a "mega" game by my standards!

I wonder what base game sized selection (so circa 72 tiles) made by selecting complete expansions (major and mini) would produce the best "alternate base game" set up ...

So, hypothetically, what would it be like to play with expansions only - no base game?

Which expansions would you combine to create a fun game?

What combination of meeples and figures? Only those in the expansions themselves or would you add in some or all of the regular meeples from the base game?

What rule problems would there be, I wonder?

If anyone has actually tried this, I for one would love to hear how it went!

Official Rules / Phantom - just checking
« on: June 28, 2020, 10:37:39 AM »
Quote from: WikiCarpedia, paraphrasing slightly ...
The phantom can be also placed as second figure after removing a figure during the "Move Wood" phase ...

An abbot follower (The Abbot)

A follower or a special figure (The Festival)

A follower trapped by Vodyanoy or Solovei Razboynik (Russian Promos)

Now I'm pretty sure that this means a phantom can be placed on the tile just played following one of the above (as per normal rules), but - to me at least - it also kind of sounds as though it might mean that the phantom could be placed on the tile from which the other wood had just been moved ...
Please confirm.  :yellow-meeple:

I see that Carcassonne93 has already tackled this typo. Thanks for pointing  O0
So Carcassonne93 now has edit access to WikiCarpedia?

Official Rules / Re: Player sequence when auctioning tiles
« on: May 24, 2020, 01:38:56 PM »
My opinion, FWIW, is based purely on this thread. I have no experience of the expansion concerned.

My natural understanding of the quoted rules is option 2. As an English (UK) speaker it seems natural to me to interpret the following ...
Quote
the next player who has not yet bought a tile during this bazaar
.. as if the additional meaning, added in brackets below, was also present.
Quote
the next player (to the left of the current auctioneer) who has not yet bought a tile during this bazaar

Since there is no explicit definition to provide a new meaning to 'next player' it seems logical to reuse the original definition.

This all seemed simple enough when I began to compose my response. Now however I can see the following ...

Firstly, there is no clear implication of how the next auctioneer is to be chosen - I have mistakenly conflated 'player' with 'auctioneer'!

Secondly, even to the extent that my logic stands up, this is only my inference. There is no information such gives us insight into the author's intention ...

Hmm. I can't get it any clearer in my head than that. If this actually helps, I shall be amazed!
