The last game of this group has now been played, and I am pleased to be able to report that everyone in the group managed at least 1 win!

Tonight's result was:-

TheSteveAllen  :green-meeple: 137 (home) v Piet_Agoras  :red-meeple: 97 (visitor)

After a long battle for the main farm, I noticed that Piet_Agoras had run out of meeples and made the most of the opportunity of grabbing a few points here and there as they appeared.

Any way, I would like to thank all competitors in this group all the best of luck in the rest of the competition, and thank all of them for being such good and friendly opponents.

Jere and I played our round 4 match tonight as Jere has already reported in the above posting. They were two very odd games, in which I managed to lose by 4 points for the second time this week in a game that I thought I was going to win, and in which I won by a flattering margin in a game that I convinced myself I was going to lose.

The battles for the farms in both games made all the difference and I really got upset with myself in the first game having to share the longest road that I have ever built in Carcassonne after what seemed like hours of laying the tarmac.

Well played Jere, and thanks for a most entertaining evening.

Thanks for the excellent write-up Hounk. I agree that the RRRR in the middle was the focus of the latter part of the match, especially as I had the castle waiting to be completed. Unfortunately for me, I ran out of bridges (which I think are a really good addition to the game) and your master stroke was the extra farmer at the bottom right which I miserably failed to counter. Well played, and I wish you all the best in the rest of the competition.  :(y)

Is anyone going to be around for a game this evening, as I am starting to feel a bit like Billy-No-Mates! I was not expecting to come on here today to find that I was holding up the completion of this league, so I need to get my games out of the way.  :D

I have never played this before, but count me in anyway!

We are usually playing on JCloisterZone, which runs on Mac, Linux and PC as it is written in java. Hope that you join us next time around!

Thanks for the games Adrornalin. I really enjoyed my 'maiden voyage'. I sincerely wish you the best of luck in your other games and, if you do not fare so well, come back and play me again! :-)

Is this likely to be going ahead, as I seem to recall that it was billed to start next week? I hope so, as I am looking forward to playing against a human and not an AI count or warlock!  :D

Should run on Ubuntu no problems. I would have thought it would run on ChromeOS too as Java runs on pretty much everything. I'm no expert though. Good luck guys!

Just to let anyone know that uses Linux OS, JCZ runs perfectly in Ubuntu once Iced Tea has been installed. Any problems, let me know and I will see if I can help.

Thanks for the welcome Dan. I use Ubuntu, but I don't think that I will encounter any problems, as I think that it is written in Javascript. Will let you know how I get on.

I am the same as Maedac, a newbie who has just joined this forum. I would like to take part but I need to investigate JCloisterZone, as I have only used the Carcassonne app on iPhone, and MacBook. All help would be welcome.
